Nines’ Monday winning streak continued, up slightly week-on-week. Seven and ABC were both slightly higher while 10 and SBS lost share.

Married At First Sight continued to dominate with another twist to the “experiment” delivering 1.77 million, on par with last Monday.

Meanwhile Australian Idol selected its top six with 906k tuning in, slightly lower than the previous week.

Sam Pang Tonight’s second episode drew an average 575k viewers compared to the debut episode that had almost 800k. Earlier, Australian Survivor was up slightly to a new season high. 10’s Late News in a not particularly late timeslot surged to 346k, equal with the 5pm bulletin’s result and a nominal timeslot winner.

Australian Story was back in ABC’s Monday drawing an impressive 743k. Four Corners dropped 50k and Media Watch was down as well back to their usual time slots. Q+A ahead of the federal Budget had almost 300k to do well later in the night.

Nine’s split schedule saw 100% Footy in NRL states up 30k to 243k and Footy Classified in the rest of the country on 235k, also up from last week.

Seven’s 9-1-1 Lone Star’s second episode of the season was up slightly to 412k.

The 6pm contest of news bulletins saw another win for Seven by 70k. At 7pm, though, A Current Affair was on top with 1.2 million and 200k ahead of its nearest competition in with ABC News that had 980k while Home and Away was just under 900k.

Big drop for Sam Pang Tonight from last week’s debut. Even having Kitty Flanagan as guest announcer could not maintain the audience level.

Not an unexpected drop for Sam Pang Tonight, seemingly the show still has some work to do.

Interesting observation that Survivor’s BVOD number the last few nights has been above Idol’s – one would have thought 7Plus would have the advantage there. Overseas people using VPN’s?

Impressive numbers for 10’s Late News, especially to be on par with the 5pm number, shows importance of a good lead-in, doubtful this will inspire them to have it in an earlier slot.

@TV.Cynic would that be one of the best, if not the #1 figure, for 10’s late news since it’s return?

I was doubtful last week when I saw 10’s Late News at an early timeslot of 9.45pm. Seeing the numbers for it last night, I’ll eat my words and say, well done for those numbers.

For Sam Pang’s numbers. Yes, a drop from last week. But not terrible numbers atm.

  • Married at First Sight was the No. 1 program of the night with Total People and all key demos across Australia and in all metro capitals. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.827 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.767 million - up 9.5% year-on-year. On 9Now, it achieved a BVOD audience of 491,000 - up 29.2% year-on-year.

  • 9News was the No.1 news bulletin with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It was also the preferred news bulletin with the key demographics of People 25-54 and People 16-39 across Australia. The combined national bulletins achieved a National Total TV Reach of 2.177 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.332 million (up 14.6% on the same night last year). On 9Now, its BVOD Audience of 122,000 was up 45.2% year-on-year.

  • 9News achieved its highest rating weekday bulletin of the year in Sydney (Total TV Audience of 281,000) and in Perth (Total TV Audience of 100,000).

  • A Current Affair won the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People and all key demos across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.939 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.209 million up 11.4% year on year. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 131,000 - up 31% on the same night last year.

  • Tipping Point Australia was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People and all key demos across Australia and in all metro capitals. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.436 million and a Total TV National Audience of 756,000 - up by 20.4% when compared to the same day last year. On 9Now it registered a BVOD Audience of 66,000 - up 69.2% year-on-year.

  • 100% Footy secured a Total TV National Audience of 243,000 and a BVOD Audience of 51,000. It was the top rating NRL magazine program nationally on Monday night.

  • Footy Classified - Monday achieved a Total TV National Audience of 235,000 and a BVOD Audience of 27,000. In Melbourne, it achieved a Total TV Average Audience of 126,000. It was the top rating AFL magazine program nationally on Monday night.

  • Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Melbourne. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 824,000, a Total TV Average Audience of 314,000 (up 1.6% year-on-year) and a BVOD audience of 42,000 - up 23.5% on the same morning last year.

  • The 9Network was the No. 1 network on Monday across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.

  • 9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform on Monday with Total People and all key demos.

Last night was the biggest audience of the season for Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II, when an Immunity Challenge left only five heads on the chopping block, the pursuit of self-preservation tore apart loyal allies.

Last week’s launch of Sam Pang Tonight grew to reach 1.89 million Aussies with 7-day viewing figures. Last night’s show featured Sam’s trademark monologue as well as special guests Kitty Flanigan and Felix Cameron.

Few concerning areas for Channel 7 - particularly their News numbers in Sydney and the broader Sydney market. However, Sunrise appears to be doing very well.
Wasn’t there a DM article/author who claimed The Project was being axed, and also wrote an article saying Georgie’s ratings are never strong?!

I would think the lower BVOD number for Idol is probably explained by it being an older skewing show, so more people are likely to watch on tv rather than stream.

I know the numbers for Nine News Perth fluctuate a fair bit, but that is definitely higher than normal, and that gap is as low as I can remember for a single day for a while. Will be intrigued to see if they can maintain that gap, or be thereabouts going forward…

I agree. In fact if survivor was on another channel, id expect bigger steeaming numbers, because 10Play, even with some decent content hidden away on there, is a flop.
Aus Idol gets about 50% more total viewers than survivor but rates a fair bit lower in demos most nights.

How long have been calling for 10 News to go at 9:30? Such a good figure for it.

But it wasn’t 9:30, it was 9:47pm lol - so basically 10pm and not far off where it broadcasts sometimes.

One night does not make a trend, but it certainly shows the importance of a good lead-in.

It doesn’t show a trend but it definitely shows what can be achieved in that slot, 10 have some consistent shows at 8:30 throughout the year so there is no reason why it can’t be achieved again, and eventually it could become habit.

Great figures for the 9:50pm start. Clearly this rates better than those comedy specials 10 seem to be intent on airing.
