The season two grand final of The Floor was Monday’s top entertainment show with a season-high 1.06m. That compared to the inaugural season’s final that had just over 1.2m. This season has done well ranking first in its timeslot on most nights to average 932k. That compares to season one’s average overnight audience of 1.12m. The result helped Nine to narrowly win the night.

MasterChef continued its Around the World Week with an elimination that was down 20k to 678k. ABC’s line up of factuals got underway with Australian Story at 8pm with slipping 45k to 653k. For Seven, the fifth Glenn & Mick’s Celebrity Intervention was for Dave Hughes with an average of 585k, down 60k to a season low.

Later, Have You Been Paying Attention? was a timeslot winner. The rating of 771k compared to +800k results for the first two episodes of the season.

Four Corners also did well to average 557k while Media Watch wasn’t far behind with 544k while Planet America then had 510k. Meanwhile, 9-1-1 on Seven was steady with 358k.

Nine’s football inspired split schedule featured 100% Footy with 236k and Footy Classified with 218k. 10’s Late News also made an impression with 268k.

The 6pm news battle saw another win for Seven News on 1.564m ahead of Nine News with 1.408m, a four-week high.

The 5pm lead in saw Tipping Point maintain its winning streak to lead The Chase by 66k. The Chase posted its highest rating of the past two years while Tipping Point’s rating was the second highest this year. And even earlier at 4pm, Seven News at 4 and 9News Afternoon were separated by 30k with the win going to Nine.

At 7pm A Current Affair was over one million to be well ahead of ABC News and Home and Away. Millionaire Hot Seat had 375k for 10.

Breakfast TV numbers saw Sunrise increase it lead with 457k while Today had 309k and News Breakfast 263k.

An interestingly varied night.

  • Seven wins 6.00pm
  • Nine wins 7.00pm and 7.30pm
  • 10 wins 8.40pm
  • ABC wins 9.40pm

It will need a miracle for this show to be renewed for 2027.

Looks like The Floor will return in 2027, even though it’s ratings were down on last year.

I think it still can have a chance at coming back. It started well and had maintained respectable ratings for half of the season. This episode was Dave Hughes and he’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Also people might of tuned in for the Floor finale too.

It’s done good enough so far. I think season average is still high 600k’s.

The same with the Dave Hughes episode of The Assembly on ABC. A lot of people can’t stand Hughesy.

Very poor figures for Today against Sunrise. Sunrise has found its groove again. With Sarah going on leave soon, might be time for a rethink of Today.

Nine won Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane

Seven won Adelaide and Perth

Nine News did well to top one million, increasingly rare, but Seven wasn’t a long way back.

Seven News did well in Perth and The Chase beat Tipping Point there but nowhere else.

Sunrise won all markets except Brisbane with some big breakfast numbers in Sydney. Today third in Melbourne.

9News Afternoon with a +40,000 margin to Seven News at 4

The Floor did well in most markets except Adelaide where both of 10’s program beat the competition.

One of the bigger turn offs in recent times for 10News- considering the bigger lead in and lead out.

Glenn and Mick is still pulling a slightly respectable consolidated figure. It really could have a life in a different timeslot

Did they ever lose it? Today may have improved but then diminished but Sunrise has been staedy and winning the whole time.

Needs a different timeslot. 8.30 I reckon. Maybe in the “off season” to The Front Bar.

I think 8 episodes after AFL final week on Wednesday (goes until Mid Nov before cricket starts and Front Bar cricket edition returns) or Sunday after 1% club instead of spotlight could work given it’s game show/comedy leading into a comedy.

7:30pm performance isn’t bad but it’s definitely slipping into dangerous territory. But it’s good to see 7 trying something new and timeslots etc

next season already in the can, they filmed two back-to-back
