The return of Have You Been Paying Attention? attracted a huge post-reality rating of 845,000 national viewers for an easy timeslot win, topping the night in the 25-54 demo.

That helped 10’s share to improve by +3 to its best Monday result of the year pushing Nine to third place in the key demo groups. The result saw all other networks lose some share with Nine down 2 points to its lowest Monday number of the year.

At 7.30, Farmer Wants A Wife was up 80k week-on-week posting to a season high. MasterChef was up 55k from the previous week to its highest rating since the season premiere however The Summit slipped to fourth place down 80k from Sunday’s launch.

With a smaller lead in Paramedic slipped to a season low, down 120k. 9-1-1 however picked up some extra viewers.

Australian Story was up this week, though Four Corners and Media Watch took a hit against the increased competition though Q+A did better.

The afternoon saw Tipping Point in the lead while at 6pm with a 2024-high rating while Deal or No Deal again made the top 30 with its biggest audience since launch. Anne Edmond’s special did well for its timeslot.

Yikes. So bad.

HYBPA is just what 10 needed.
Not sure why Nine renewed The Summit. It didn’t rate last year and it’s happened again this year.

Clean sweep of east coast for Nine News and TP. Good news result for Seven in Adelaide and Nine in Brisbane (2nd highest of the year).

How much higher can Tipping Point go? Result was a 2024 high national and 5 city audiences, closing in on 500k metro viewers. The equivalent day in 2023 The Chase had 456,000 and Hot Seat 343,000.

Note that these are broadcast TV numbers. That may sometimes lead to PR releases seeming to differ as to which program won a market if the network is using Total TV numbers that included live BVOD.

Curious that regional viewers don’t seem to have embraced TP as yet, I would have thought the show would appeal to those in particular. Does it air at 5pm in all regions?

Also as much as “reach” is completely laughable, Chase always seems to be ahead in this - viewers watching the final chase and nothing more? I wonder if they could look at using that segment more within the show

No - it is at 4:30pm in WIN areas that have 5:30pm news.

The 5 City Ratings are the most revealing. I study them 5-days a week.
A special request: Would it be possible to post the 5 City figures for Friday, 10 May 2024 in that section? Currently they are not included.
Chase Aus vs. Tipping Aus are of special interest to me.

Thank you in anticipation…

@AmFmDigital
TV Cynic mentioned that further reporting will not be posted on weekends (Friday and Saturday ratings)

Absolutely. Shows how much their shares are reliant on having a decent post 8:30pm offering to keep audiences on the network or to have people turn on, whereas the other commercials build an audience earlier in the evening and hope they stick around through the evening.

Some points of clarification

The key phrase: will not be “posted” on weekends (Friday and Saturday ratings)

This seems to imply that Friday’s ratings would, in future, be posted on the following Monday. Whether that means not posted on Saturday and Sunday by OzTAM or by TV.Cynic is unclear to me.

Note : Unfortunately, due to further changes to the ratings reporting system, I can no longer provide any extra rating information on weekends as the required reports have been discontinued. Weekday coverage, however, is unchanged.

I assumed that, from this week, Friday’s (17 May 2024) ratings will be posted on next Monday (20 May 2024). Presumably it will include the three (3) 5 Cities “tables” for (a) Seven News / Nine News / 10 News, (b) Chase Aus vs. Tipping Aus, and (c) Sunrise/ Today / Newsbreak.

To quote TV.Cynic: Weekday coverage, however, is unchanged.

Therefore, I expect, according to the usual process, there will be a series of updates after 11:30 AM until an indeterminate time in the afternoon when 5 Cities is included.

I made a one-time-only request (to TV.Cynic) for the already posted Friday, 10 May 2024 Ratings (occurred on Saturday, 11 May 2024) to be amended (updated) with the 5 Cities information which presumably does exist.

Am I the only member of this forum who refers to historic Ratings posted by the moderator? I do so to obtain a clear understanding of the Chase Aus vs. Tipping Aus “trends” through a full week. There is an important reason why I do so. It could be disclosed in the future.

Wow :eyes:

Jesus dude.

He cannot get access to this data because they are no longer published as these reports fall on weekends, and I assume he cannot get access to further data on the following weekday.

I’ve noticed further coverage of Saturday ratings haven’t been posted for a while now, nor has this data been posted on the following Monday, so I doubt it can be obtained.

Okay CEO
Might need to phrase yourself friendlier

This would indicate, that Friday and Saturday ratings (the more specific categories like 5 city metro) won’t be published or available at all.

That implied that Sunday-Thursday ratings reports are still same and available, but Friday-Saturday will not have the specific features of 5 city metro etc.

Nope.

You’ve misread the situation. As other members have realised, no extra info posted on weekends means no extra info is available on Friday and Saturday overnight numbers. This is due to the reports stopping and that happened a couple of weeks ago so no extra info for Friday 10 May.

I will endeavour to continue to provide extra info such as the 5-city numbers on Mondays to Fridays when available. This can sometimes take a while to collate as the info is not provided in the nice neat tables that get posted.

Hope you can enjoy that info as it is still a good insight into various battles occurring in each market weather it be news, game shows or breakfast TV, and sometimes footy results as well.
