repeats prior
9:00 Days of Our Lives
10:00 Young and Restless
11:00 The Drew Barrymore Show
12:00 Entertainment Tonight
12:30 Judge Judy rpt
1:00 10 News Lunchtime
2:00 Family Feud US
2:30 LINGO UK
3:30 10 News Afternoon
4:00 Neighbours etc as per usual
With Ten steadily heading towards all new content during the day, I can see Ten looking something like the two options below, noting from the current advice, option 1 is the more likely scenario
6:00am Judge Judy
6:30am Entertainment Tonight
7:00am Drew Barrymore Show
8:00am Neighbours
8:30am Bold And The Beautiful
Then the day would likely look something like this
Option 1
9:00am Days Of Our Lives
10:00am Young And The Restless
11:00am Entertainment Tonight
11:30am Cooking Show
12:00pm Drew Barrymore Show
1:00pm Ten News
2:00pm Family Feud US
2:30pm Lingo
3:30pm Ten News
4:00pm As scheduled
Option 2
9:00am Deal Or No Deal
9:30am Family Feud US
10:00am Lingo
11:00am Ten News
11:30am Cooking Show
12:00pm Drew Barrymore Show
1:00pm Ten News
2:00pm Days Of Our Lives
3:00pm Young And The Restless
4:00pm As scheduled
I think Ten needs to look at something like this for weekend mornings
Saturday
6:00am Video Hits
8:00am Escape With ET
8:30am I Fish
9:00am Sports Central Ten
11:00am Drew Barrymore Show (rpt)
Sunday
6:00am Video Hits
8:00am Newsweek
8:30am Sunday Morning Australia
10:00am Face The Nation Australia
11:00am Drew Barrymore Show (rpt)
Religion would be pre 6am scheduled something like this
Saturday
5:00am The Key Of David
5:30am Leading The Way
Sunday
4:00am Joseph Prince
4:30am Hour Of Power
5:30am Mass For You At Home
The Religious programs would be encores across secondary channels across the weekend during the day
How about bring back current affairs series called Sandra Sully Investigates on Thursday Night
Thursday Nights
6.00 Deal Or No Deal
6.30 The Project
7.30 The Dog House Australia
8.30 Matlock
9.30 Sandra Sully Investigates
10.30 10 News Late
11.00 The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
An investigative / longer form current affairs series would be a great addition to their line-up and donât mind the idea of Thursday night (but wouldnât have it following US content), but they have so many holes in their schedule that desperately need new content such as Fridays & Saturdays, Sunday post 8:00pm soon that I think the money could be better spent addressing those first.
Sunday nights at 8pm Ten could use either some sort of factual or a variation to 60 Minutes, perhaps another incarnation of Australiaâs Most Wanted for 8pm on Ten.
The only other alternative I can think of for 8pm is a game show such as Wheel Of Fortune Australia
I donât think 10 would do well with putting something like that up against 60 Mins/Spotlight, theyâd be better with a comedy panel show or variety type show or the like.
Providing the alternative has generally worked well for them.
I was going to say they could revive Good News Week, but I thought it might be too much of the same throughout the week with Ten already screening Have You Been Paying Attention
I do miss the antics of the Good News Week. But also canât see it returning anytime soon, due to other weekly panel/game shows, like HYBPA and The Cheap Seats.
10 could air a âSandra Sully Investigatesâ type of shows, in the timeslot of when Gogglebox goes on breaks? So they can have new content there all year round.
Ten tried in 2011 with Good News World but it was received quite poorly.
Why would they move Drew Barrymore for a third time so soon, do you want it to fail?
What I donât understand is why those imported game shows are not running in the morning but rather neck and neck with those on Seven and Nine. Makes little sense, what possible audience could they find?
In the mock schedule you have responded to above relates to encore presentations of the Drew Barrymore Show, just like they already air on Saturday and Sunday. The timeslot listed is a suggestion to give consistency rather than be starting at 11:30am Saturday and 9:30am Sunday.
I think Ten have already considered it as a failure. I felt that it should have either remained at 11am weekdays or moved to midday weekdays, instead of being at 9am. This reasoning is why I felt a 11am start time on weekends would be a good idea.
theyâd have to make it before they air it, and whenâs Sandra gonna find the time?
Perhaps the Queensland editions of Ten News First be hosted by someone else so she can just do Ten News Sydney
Sharyn Ghidella would be an obvious candidate, or perhaps they could also poach Jonathan Uptin from Nine (but I doubt that would happen).
But as Iâve said many times, there are so many logistics that 10 would need to get through and costs are preventing them from relaunching a standalone Queensland bulletin.
Yes, Iâve heard the criticism regarding the current state of affairs at 10 News, but IMHO itâs short term pain caused by COVID.
I know it would require changes, it perhaps the daytime bulletins could be split between Melbourne and Adelaide news teams and have Perth news team take over the Brisbane edition.
Alternatively, Ten could launch a program under a similar concept named Close Analysis (at least as a working title), and perhaps someone like Narelda Jacobs could present it and possibly have one of the daytime bulletins from Melbourne
