If Jim Wilson was still at Seven…
Sunrise (Fridays)
Jim Wilson and Natalie Barr
Eddy remains on news, while Matt Shirvington presents sport (Beretts would have Fridays off too, like Kochie does these days).
Alternatively, Jim Wilson and Shirvo could swap.
Come to think of it. If/when 10 News reinstates a local Queensland bulletin (which, in reality I cannot see happening for at least another six months), the presenting line-up should be:
News: Kendall Gilding
Sport: Veronica Eggleton
Weather: Josh Holt (who returns to Brisbane full-time; Amanda Jason could replace him in Sydney)
My mock roster for Seven with their cost-cutting at the moment:
Seven Early News
Angela Cox (Mon-Thu)/Sally Bowrey (Fri)
Sunrise
Co-Hosts: Natalie Barr & Matt Shirvington
News: Edwina Bartholomew
Sport: Mark Beretta
Weather: Sam Mac
The Morning Show
Co-Hosts: Larry Emdur & Kylie Gillies
News Updates: Angela Cox (Mon-Thu)/Sally Bowrey (Fri)
Seven Morning News
Ann Sanders (Mon-Thu)/Sally Bowrey (Fri)
Seven News at 4
Sydney: Mark Ferguson (Mon-Thu)/Angela Cox (Fri)
Melbourne: Peter Mitchell
Brisbane: Sharyn Ghidella (week A) OR Max Futcher (week B)
Adelaide: Will Goodings (week A) OR Rosanna Mangiarelli (week B)
Perth: Susannah Carr (week A) OR Rick Ardon (week B)
Seven News (6pm)
Sydney: Mark Ferguson (Sun-Thu)/Michael Usher & Angela Cox (Fri-Sat)
Melbourne: Peter Mitchell (Mon-Fri)/Mike Amor & Bec Maddern (Sat-Sun)
Brisbane: Sharyn Ghidella & Max Futcher (Mon-Fri)/Samantha Heathwood (Sat-Sun)
Adelaide: Will Goodings & Rosanna Mangiarelli (Mon-Fri)/Mike Smithson (Sat-Sun)
Perth: Susannah Carr & Rick Ardon (Mon-Fri)/Tim McMillan & Angela Tsun (Sat-Sun)
Weekend Sunrise
Co-Hosts: Matt Doran & Monique Wright
News: Sally Bowrey
Weather: James Tobin
reviving the early news with a separate presenter hardly seems like cost cutting?
It would more so be about giving Angela Cox something to do in addition to her other duties.
Imagine if the weekend anchors from Seven transitioned to weeknights, akin to how Alicia Loxley and Tom Steinfort co-anchor Nine’s 6pm bulletin in Melbourne (see below):
Sydney: Michael Usher & Angela Cox (Sun-Thu), replacing Mark Ferguson
Melbourne: Mike Amor & Bec Maddern (Mon-Fri), replacing Peter Mitchell
@Avatar5991 Suppose that Network 10 were to bring back the Brisbane edition of 10 News First with Kendall Gilding (transferred from Seven) as newsreader and Veronica Eggleton as sports anchor.
In such a case Josh Holt, currently handling the weather forecasts for the Sydney and Brisbane editions of 10 News First, might have to relocate back to Brisbane. Amanda Jason, who currently delivers the weather for the national weekend edition of 10 News First out of Sydney, could consequently step into the weeknight role.
The weekend slot could then be taken up by either Kristie Lloyd, Emma Ralph, Samantha Chiari or Rachel Raez, the latter being a potential transfer from Sky News Australia.
However, it’s important to remember that this is purely hypothetical.
that’s literally what he just said?
Surely a senior reporting gig would be better than reading 5am news?
Josh Holt is from Sydney (well, according to his Wikipedia at least) so he could remain on the Sydney bulletin.
10 could instead snap up Paul Burt.
If the Melbourne Cup carnival was still on 10:
Hosts:
Anthony Hudson
Peter Donegan
Tara Rushton
Expert commentators:
Michelle Payne
Glen Boss
Michael Felgate
Reporters:
Brittany Taylor
David Gately (Betting ring)
Caty Price
Rob Mills
If 10 had NRL or Grand Slam Tennis Rights, what is your dream lineup?
How about if Seven had NRL Rights?
If ABC News Channel had dual presenters from 9-8 weekdays:
9am-12pm: Joe O’Brien and Gemma Veness
12pm-4pm: Ros Childs and Lorna Dunkley
4pm-5pm: Greg Jennett and Patricia Karvelas
5pm-8pm: Kathryn Robinson and John Barron
Love it. Wouldn’t mind seeing Kirsten Aiken back in there somewhere.
Could sub her for Kathryn, and then move Kathryn to The Business.
in all honesty if would give Kath a bunch of cash and have her move to Melb to do Breakfast! haha
Would actually work well with Rowland IMO.
If 10 revived regional bulletins (using ex-WIN presenters):
Example for Southern NSW:
News: Lachlan Kennedy (from Sydney)
Sport: Amy Duggan
Weather: Danielle Post
Fill-ins: Greg Thomson (sport), Danielle Post (news)
If the Seven Network launched new look regional bulletins for NSW (outside Sydney) and the ACT (Canberra), i.e. local news at 6pm with Seven News Sydney to follow at 6.30pm…
News: Daniel Gibson
Sport: Nick Hose
Weather: Kirstie Fitzpatrick
Fill-ins: Kirstie Fitzpatrick (news), Max Ghent (news), Nick Hose (news), Stephen Murphy (news), Rhiannon Elston (weather; joining the Seven News NSW/ACT team from Sky News Weather Channel), Emma Wightman (weather; joining the Seven News NSW/ACT team from Sky News Weather Channel)
For viewers in Sydney, that city’s Seven News would continue to run for an hour (6-7pm). Regional NSW and ACT viewers would join the Seven News Sydney team for the second half of the hour (from 6.30pm).
Why turf Nick off the news to sport?
