Clearly I don’t think he’s the best caller then.

What I think Seven should do for regional bulletins if they launch new ones:

NORTH COAST
News/Sport: Madelaine Collignon
Weather: Kirstie Fitzpatrick

NEW ENGLAND, NEWCASTLE , CENTRAL WEST, RIVERINA
News: Madelaine Collignon
Sport: Phoebe Deas
Weather: Kirstie Fitzpatrick

WOLLONGONG, CANBERRA, ALBURY/SHEPPARTON
News: Madelaine Collignon and Bruce Roberts (Bruce also does sport)
Weather: Kirstie Fitzpatrick

BENDIGO/MILDURA, BALLARAT, GIPPSLAND
News: Bruce Roberts
Sport: Phoebe Deas (if not Phoebe, Bruce does it)
Weather: Kirstie Fitzpatrick

That’s pretty much what it is now aside from an extra day of Shirvo

When Peter Hitchener retires, I would like to see something like this:

WEEKNIGHTS
News: Jennifer Keyte (poached from Ten)
Sport: Tony Jones
Weather: Livinia Nixon (Mon-Thurs)

WEEKENDS
News: Alicia Loxley
Sport: Clint Stanaway
Weather: Madeline Slattery

Like I said in the Nine News Content and Appearance thread, I think Nine should poach Jennifer Keyte to read the news once Hitch retires. She is already well known to Melbourne viewers reading main bulletins on both Seven and Ten. If the latter goes national, she will be out of a job most likely, so Nine should poach her once Peter Hitchener leaves. That will give Alicia Loxley and Dougal Beatty a bit more time to work on presenting skills, as I don’t think they are ready for weekdays and weekends respectively.

Here’s what I think 10 News First Sydney/Queensland and 7 News Sydney would look like after Mark Ferguson, Sandra Sally, and Anne Sanders leave the networks or retire:
10 News First Sydney/Queensland
News: Chris Bath (Lachlan Kennedy will now present the weekend news on Sunday, and Natasha Exelby will present the weekend news from Melbourne on Saturday)
Sport: Matt Burke
Weather: Josh Holt
7 Afternoon News Sydney
News: Natalie Bar (The east coast edition of the morning news will also be presented by Natalie Bar. Sally Bowrey will continue to present the Friday editions)
Sport: Mel McLaughlin (Monday to Thursday) Matt Shirvington (Friday)
Weather: Angie Asimus (Monday to Thursday) Amber Laidler (Friday)
7 News Sydney Sunday to Thursday
News: Michael Usher and Angela Cox
Sport: Same as the afternoon bulletin
Weather: Same as the afternoon bulletin
7 News Sydney Friday to Saturday
News: Natasha Belling
Sport: Matt Shirvington
Weather: Sally Bowrey

mods, feel free to move to mock presenters thread or remain the post here

Who do people think would be a good presenter for Nine News Tasmania? Here is my thoughts:

  • Louise Houbaer - A great presenter for Southern Cross Seven in Tasmania. She would be a good poach for Nine, as she lives in Hobart and would seem more likely to go to Nine. I doubt Kim would (as she lives in Launceston). I also cannot see Peter Murphy going (as he lives in Launceston, has a day job there and is loyal to SC7) and I also doubt Tom Johnson would go (due to Brett most likely getting the sport presenter job Tom would only get weekends, and having to move to Hobart).

  • Brent Costelloe. A well known face in Tasmania, very active on social media, seen around the state at local sporting events and loyal to WIN being there since 2004. Also unlike the presenters at SC7 he lives in Hobart and has lived there his whole life. If not, I am 90% sure he will get the sport presenter job due to him hosting sport from 2008-2018 and being a sport reporter after production was moved to Wollongong. He is also suitable as a fill-in for News during summer and when a presenter is sick?

  • Alexandra Alvaro. Although not as experienced as the other two (only starting journalism in 2019) she is currently the weekend presenter at the ABC. The reason I am picking her is I feel like Guy Stanyer would not go to Nine unless Nine coughs up a lot and due to him loyal at the ABC. I doubt he would leave ABC not to get the weekday job and only get weekends. Personally I feel like Alexandra would be a good pick for weekends with someone else for weekdays.

  • Stephanie Anderson. Currently the 4th in line at Nine News Melbourne (behind Peter, Alicia and Dougal) and has been at WIN Tasmania before going up to GTV9 Melbourne and joining the team. She may be willing to move down to Tasmania to get the weekday job or weekend one.

Personally, I could see this:

WEEKDAYS
Presenter: Louise Houbaer
Sport: Brent Costelloe
Weather: ?

WEEKENDS
Presenter: Alexandra Alvaro
Sport: ?
Weather: Read by Alexandra

NINE NEWS LATE
Same as current

As you can see, it is kept mostly the same as current. I would choose Amelia Adams for Today as she is very good, and Allison for ACA as she has basically been confirmed. With Jim Wilson I reckon he should get the permanent sport presenter job, with James Bracey going back to WWOS permanently.

With Tasmania, I have chosen Louise Hedger for News, she is very talented and the current weekend presenter for 7 TAS News. Sport is Brent Costelloe for very obvious reasons, and I don’t have an idea who should present weather. With weekends I have chosen Alexandra Alvaro (due to there not being much presenters) and am not sure about weekend sports.
