It’d be a shame if they ended up using something else tbh.
As mentioned in 10 News+ thread (and first reported by The Age and SMH), Deal or No Deal and Hot Seat will be shown at 6.30pm and 7pm respectively from January next year.
The only outcome that satisfies everyone.
Glad that it’s only going to be 30 minutes each night. Fast paced, compared to the snail-paced 60 minute version over on Nine.
let’s be honest wouldn’t it be cheaper to show an hour version rather than 2 half hour shows? They aren’t going to rate that well. I’d also move it to 6pm and have 7pm reality again.
With all these announcements over the past week from 10 there will nothing left to announce at the upfronts next week. More boring upfronts like the other two.
I guess we have to start realising what the upfront are… they are to sell a product to the advertisers and maybe releasing these things before the event are better for that.
Glad that we got the timeslot and 30-minute format out of the way.
Let’s start focusing on the intricacies: Studio, graphics, money tree and music.
We’ll see how many of those boxes will be ticked at the upfront.
2026 Upfronts:
Everyday Aussies will have the opportunity to win a lifechanging sum of money when Millionaire Hot Seat comes to 10, hosted by Rebecca Gibney. Testing their nerves and their general knowledge, each episode will see six contestants enter the arena, facing 15 challenging questions and earning them the opportunity to walk away with cash prizes, up to a whopping $1,000,000.
Rebecca Gibney said: “I’m not sure I’ll be the most composed game show host because, so far, there have been chair spins, lots of laughter, and more than a few tears! It’s such a privilege to be able to spend time getting to know everyday Aussies and to watch them win life changing amounts of money.
It’s the most exhilarating, challenging, and extraordinary thing I’ve ever done.”
Zero.
Wrong game show. ![]()
I’ve just checked the ticket page for MHS, and it appears they add more dates, with final taping day will be January 21st, so 196 episodes to aired in 2026
If four new episodes are shown each week, that’s 49 weeks.
Episode 125-128 taping day was moved up to 21 Nov from early Dec.
Another case where it’s uncertain what new content it will have.
Don’t remember the last time a 10-produced non-news program truly airs year-round.
I would say 10 will screen the series something like this
Commencing Jan 5 - New episodes 5 nights per week for first 8 weeks, then 4 new episodes plus a repeat from start of March to end of November. Then repeats until end of year assuming it returns.
If, in thr unlikely scenario that Hot Seat is a bomb, it will be relegated to a secondary channel screening possibly mid afternoon
10 has had hits being initial bombs before V-shape recovering before.
This will not happen.
Will not happen? The two things that could impact it would be the scheduled timeslot and the prospect of viewers getting game show fatigue with all 3 commercial stations screening a minimum of 3 hours if game shows each on their main channels without the secondary channels.
As I stated, unlikely, but could happen. It was only until a couple of we thought Deal Or No Deal was a dead duck, which is why I suggested what 10 might do with remaining episodes.
Still using the logo from Nine’s version.
