As mentioned by Radioinfo, Christian O’Connell added 0.5 to increase his lead over Jase, Lauren and Clint, who suffered the second biggest drop in the breakfast timeslot (1.5). Triple M breakfast with Mick Molloy and Co. enjoyed the biggest increase (1.1) which might have been helped by cross promotions during The Front Bar.

3AW remained on top at breakfast but suffered drops across the board.

ABC Melbourne’s small increases at breakfast, mornings and drive were countered by falls in afternoons and evenings.

Amazing result for 4BH to win the Brisbane survey a full one point ahead of the closest FM station that was Triple M with the other 3 FMers losing share.

I knew 4BH would win one sooner or later. Well done.

Maybe ARN might finally get the message - 97.3 need to go Gold or better still, Smooth.

How come the Radio info article says Triple M won?

Gold 101.7’s breakfast show was the only shift to not gain listeners on the station.

It’s an entirely self-inflected wound and it’s fascinating to watch. ARN will no doubt continue to broadcast the Melbourne breakfast show into Sydney despite the slump in the 6-9am ratings.

Imagine if Kerry Packer owned Gold 101.7 today. Jonesy and Amanda would be back on breakfast tomorrow. In today’s world where radio stations are publicly listed, the pain of a bad decision can stretch for months and even years before management is forced to act.

No doubt smooth continues to enjoy the dismantling of WSFM.

the AI can’t register the fact that an AM music station rated #1

AM stations are #1 in Brisbane, #2 in Sydney, #1 in Melbourne and #1 in New Zealand

4BH, wow - the little AM music station that could.

This survey should be a wake up call to every commercial FM station in Brisbane. Clearly you are not providing the product a big share of the market wants, and that’s sent them over to an AM music station run on the smell of an oily rag, that is without a big ticket breakfast or drive show and with an ordinary signal across a lot of town.

Gold or Smooth 97.3 would rate a 15+ share in this market, yet the fixed network structures we have in commercial radio in this country won’t let either happen. It’s simply ridiculous.

Anyway, congrats to 4BH and the Ace Radio family - you’ve identified a huge gap in the market and filled it beautifully despite the limitations. It’s an absolute credit to all involved.

ZB is in most markets on FM.

Perhaps this is why Radioinfo is glossing over 4BH’s #1?? It seems to be based solely on oldies, 55+. For anyone under 55 4BH is barely on the radar. Once we get a certain age we become invisible

Nova pulling way ahead of Gold, KIIS, MMM and 2Day in Sydney this survey. Nova Network must be pleased with having the two highest rating FM stations.

Nova’s Ricky-Lee and Tim smashing ratings at Breakfast and getting closer to Smooth.

It would be really interesting to know the breakdown of listeners on 4BH between AM and DAB/online.

Incredible results for Smooth , 4BH and ABC Radio Australia. Debuting at 210k listeners is massive and has clearly filled a gap in the market for the pacific community.

Wouldn’t it be Gold 97.3? Smooth is owned by Nova, isn’t it?
