Metro Radio Ratings: Survey 6, 2018

:joy::joy:

Actually, I think it’s better without Em but still, What A Mess!, why can’t 2Day have a vision?

Little was mentioned of the AFL radio ratings in Melbourne in this survey, which covered the last few rounds of home and away season and the finals. All Herald Sun reported was that Triple M had a commanding win overall.

ABC News Radios figures in the evening are always interesting. 4.4 in Sydney and typically the strongest part of the day for them across the other capitals. Yet at that time, especially after 8-9pm most of their content comes from the BBC or other current affairs programs from the US. Monday night Q and A broadcast might give them a lift, but they seem big numbers considering what they offer at that time.

This is a station that lives and dies by its bfast talent and revenue. The rest is not the primary goal for them.

Duncan should be pushing DB to improve all aspects of the station, I’m surprised that those looking over programming don’t push either. Austereo in its good days were top on everything.

MSR is a non event, change format now and sack the people who approved it.

Those attending the AGM should ask serious questions of the board and those voting should not vote for reappointment of directors who were involved.

These results are making 2SM look good, especially now Laws is on mornings.

Chris Bath presents a great program with excellent content.

It’s not terminal at MSR level. Cherie has accepted the job based on the appointments being made, so she’s there to work to improve the result not turf recent hirings.

You have experienced broadcasters who can build a suitable alternative to current choices.

It may very well be the ā€˜old’ 2CH audience turning off and marketing needed in time to bring in the new audience of what 2CH should be targeting.

It’s the show he’s given to chase, if the audience is right. Lowie made a great start on B105 in 2004 late nights and moved on to nights with the audience being 10 - 17s. Kiis aren’t looking for that, so it limits what he can do. It’s also been a decade or so, meaning his connection with that audience has changed hence a different vehicle as live from LA. Given proper direction, he can be more than a one trick pony.

Duncan was happy to blow up the Melb shows and end working with those people.

Why bother? When you have a station name that can be easily be mistaken for the original station, better results for the listed station, blurs the lines.

SCA has plenty of digital spectrum but scant talent to program the allocation best. Hence good ideas are overlooked for reactionary ones.

Is it sustained over 4/5 surveys?
