Agree with that sentiment - Perrett and Paul Murray appeared together for a number of years in a segment called ‘The Last Word’ during PM Agenda (when David Speers was hosting it) whereby they along with Speers discussed the day’s news. Speaking as someone who watched the segment quite often when it was on, what was noticeable was Perrett was generally the ‘sensible’ one whereas Murray was more ‘aggressive’ (partly due to his political views and partly due to his on-air style).

Thought that Janine was very good. Very sharp and fearless.
The left leaning faction on Twitter were not too impressed though. A few complaints about the Milligan story and allegations of bias. And a fair bit of the usual narrative about Sky taking over the ABC and all that. From what I saw, the Milligan story was a fair summary of one of the week’s more noteworthy and relevant media related stories.

Those people expect ABC programming to be an echo chamber for their political views (that’s also true for Sky viewers). As such, they’ll complain anytime anyone dares to challenge said views even slightly
