How does MW report on this but not NBN’s demise?

Yes definitely a missed opportunity to give it a mention, particularly when they mentioned previous job cuts and WIN’s subsequent claims of it not affecting the delivery of news..

Still no mention of NBN?

Interesting that the ABC has not yet posted transcripts of stories from tonight’s episode on the Media Watch website. Normally they are available 10-15 minutes after the broadcast in the eastern states.

UPDATE 30/6: the episode is available on iView.

UPDATE 2 30/6: the individual stories and transcripts were posted on Media Watch website at around 5pm AEST.

Media Watch need to look into the devastating news of the missing hiker found dead in Sydney. Several news outlets including the ABC and Fairfax websites reported that she was found alive, only to erase the story and then re-publish that she has been found dead. Instead of posting it as a correction, they just replaced the words and it seems are trying to cover up that it was initially wrong.

Have you reported it to them as a tip?

Did this not happen because Chris Minns said she had been found alive, and then corrected himself a bit after?

ABC’s article notes this happened, but not their own error. It would’ve been nice if they posted a proper correction or noted their previous publishing in the new article.

Correct

They sent out a push notification saying that she was not found alive and that earlier reports were incorrect
