TV Week interview with Matt Preston

Mumbrella interview with Matt Preston

‘Just warm props’: Matt Preston on commercial integration and his new show

For someone who did most of their TV work in the Masterchef kitchen, Preston told Mumbrella working on location reminded him how hard life can be for food and wine producers.

“I came to this project with preconceptions and romantic notions about produce. When we did the interviews and followed people during the day you realise just how tough it is.”

Although this is the first time Preston has fronted his own program, Preston said he didn’t want the focus on him.

“I really wanted the show to be about the produce makers we interview. It isn’t just Matt Preston, thank heavens, that would be terribly tedious.”

Plating Locally is produced by Melbourne’s Rising Tide Productions for SBS.
