Very sad to hear about the passing of Chris Doheny, singer of the 80s band Geisha, although better known as the voice behind ‘More than a Game’ for The Footy Show. He was immensely talented yet very underrated with a powerful voice and a vocal range to match.
Sad news. I loved their hits “Kabuki” and “ Part Time Love Affair”.
Hope they do a tribute to him at the AFL GF.

Chris was about to release the 40th anniversary album on vinyl which will now be moved to a later date. At this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we, along with Chris’s family and friends, come to terms with this profound loss.
Croatian tennis great Nikola Pilic, who trained Novak Djokovic in his academy and led the Serbian star to Davis Cup glory, has died. He was 86.
Pilic was a French Open singles runner-up in 1973 and the catalyst for the Wimbledon boycott that year.
He later played a prominent role as a tennis coach, becoming the first coach to lead three countries (Germany, Croatia and Serbia) to Davis Cup titles.

One half of the songwriting duo who wrote the theme song for ABC TV’s Mr Squiggle is being remembered for his musical skill and ability to bring people together.
Together with his wife Jenny, the two made a name for themselves as composers of memorable advertising jingles for iconic Australian products. Among the recognisable advertising tunes they wrote and produced are Take Me Away P&O, Good on You Mum, Tip Top’s the One and Berocca Gives You Back Your B-B-Bounce.

Ali Drower has died. Had a pretty long career in various media roles, I remember her most reading SCA regional noodle updates but she spent quite a bit of time in radio.
