So tragic. There will be a lot of tears from 1D fans today.
The caption is a bit confusing as it neglects to say that Costa Rica is a street not a country, as the article says inside:
Payne’s death occurred at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood, according to a statement from police provided to CNN.

My Facebook tribute to Liam Payne:
RIP Liam Payne. You were my favourite band member in One Direction from July 2023 even though you guys split up in early 2016. You will still be my favourite band member in One Direction in my heart.
Believe it or not, One Direction didn’t become one of my favourite bands until July 2022 when I went through their songs on Spotify and went from liking 5 to 57 songs. Zayn Malik was at first my favourite band member until July 2023.
I listen to One Direction literally everyday. My favourite song from them is C’mon C’mon as it’s super upbeat, and my favourite slow song is Gotta Be You. I will of course be listening to them today in tribute to Liam Payne.
I was absolutely shocked, saddened and devastated when I first heard this news.
Feeling for all One Direction fans around the world about this tragic news.

Former Norwood player and administrator Wally Miller has died at the age of 88. He was also a Crows director from 1997 to 2002, a life member of Norwood, SANFL and AFL, and inducted into South Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2004.

Production company Fremantle UK announced the news in a statement, with a spokesperson saying: “Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, we have decided to postpone the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Our thoughts are with Liam’s friends, family and all who loved him.”

We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.
UPDATE
Kate Cassidy, Payne’s girlfriend who had been with him in Argentina days before his death, called the star “my angel” before asking for privacy.
Cassidy, a TikTok influencer who had started dating Payne around 2022, said “nothing about the past few days have felt real”.
