This one kind of hits hard. Consuming Passions was one of my favourite shows to watch as a child when it was used as a regular schedule gap filler on the ABC. In a striking coincidence, I actually had rediscovered his YouTube channel about a fortnight ago and left a YouTube playlist of all his videos on repeat purely because the show serves as the perfect sort of thing to have on in the background.
I seem to remember my local medical centre (this would have been…oh…2001 onwards) having some sort of medical infotainment program on VHS playing on endless loop. I presume that was because of the program being supported by the Heart Foundation?

Pop star Meghan Trainor has revealed the Aussie inspiration behind her son’s name, Barry Bruce.
Talking to Smallzy’s Surgery podcast, the Made You Look singer explained that she was pregnant while she was in Australia filming Australian Idol.
Trainor said the inspiration for her son’s name came from the iconic Pixar film Finding Nemo.
Bruce the shark is voiced by the late Australian icon Barry Humphries, sparking the name idea for Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara.

Sarah revealed the split in an interview with Stellar magazine, which will be out on Sunday inside News Corp papers with Nicole Kidman on the cover. According to the article, while Sarah and James have been living separate lives for some time, their divorce only became official five weeks ago; and Sarah has received she has also landed a role on a popular, Logie award-winning Australian comedy series, but she can’t reveal the title right now.

Two-time MasterChef Australia runner-up Laura Sharrad has given birth to her first child, a girl named Florence Rosa. Laura said she and husband Max named their daughter after her nonna Rosa, while Florence was a nod to her Tuscan heritage and “Italy being one of our most special places in the world”.
