(Ron Joseph) was one of key off-field catalysts behind the Kangaroos’ rise from irrelevance to a 1970s powerhouse when they played off in five consecutive grand finals, winning two, under master coach, Ron Barassi.
Joseph was one of the major players in bringing Barrassi to the club, as well as champion players Malcolm Blight, Doug Wade, Barry Cable and the Krakouer brothers, Phil and Jim.
Joseph later worked at Sydney, where he played a key role in pulling off one of the moves of the century when Tony Lockett left St Kilda for the Swans, which helped to revive the ailing club.
