MasterChef Australia

Sarah Todd has posted several photos from the recording of the grand final to social media.

In this photo there were only 19 contestants from this season who were at the finale.

Who’s missing??

Tonight’s finale will have two rounds. In the first round, Callum and Laura each eliminate a classic pairing out of five, until one pair is left. They will then have to use that pair in their finished dish with 75 minute cooking time.

In the second round, the duo have to re-create a dish from pastry chef Miko Aspiras in the pressure test.

I have a bad feeling about the winner when the Project Hosts ask who’s gonna win of MCAU

Everyone on Socials are hating this season lol

SInce when?

What a finale that was. Very funny at the ending tho. When someone in the judging panel was exposing to a contestant that they had a “friendship” with another contestant. Lol

10 News +'s Amelia and Denham will have a chat with the winner on Wednesday’s show.

Why aren’t I surprised at the result? Laura was always going to be the winner this season.

Third Time’s The Charm!

Laura Sharrad Wins MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025.

Laura Sharrad has been crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025, taking home the $250,000 cash prize, and the title that she’s dreamed of since she was 13 years old.

Having made it to the Grand Finale in both Season 6 and Season 12, but narrowly missing out on the top prize, Laura embodied the spirit of this season and was truly Back to Win.

Laura said: “Being part of MasterChef Australia has been life changing. It’s such a full circle moment to set myself a goal at such a young age and then finally achieve it after not giving up – it’s an incredible feeling.

“This season, I feel like I went back as a completely different person from the seasons before. And to win, having my parents, my husband Max, and my daughter Florence there, was a very special moment.”

With the finalists’ families and Season 17 alumni watching on, the Grand Finale comprised two rounds. The first saw Laura and fellow finalist Callum Hann cook with a series of classic flavour pairings, but in an unprecedented twist, both chefs received the same score from the judges in round one: 38 out of a total 40 points.

Heading into the second round, a pressure test set by renowned pastry chef Miko Aspiras, Laura and Callum had just four-and-a-half hours to recreate his Botanical Garden, a jaw-dropping bouquet of petits fours.

Laura’s nearly identical replica of Miko’s Botanical Garden earned her 42 out of a possible 50 points in the second round, and a total of 80 points, scoring her the win by seven points. Finally, Laura was able to hold the trophy high and declare herself a MasterChef champion.

Laura said: “I think things happen at the right time and for the right reasons. Whether you’ve applied once or four times, or you don’t win and get the opportunity to come back, keep striving for that goal because MasterChef really does change your life.

“I think the more people who can experience that magic, the better the world will be.”

Laura won? Yawn. Saved me two hours of my life.
Cheap Seats at 9.30 is ridiculous.

Hard-hitting journalism here. Real investigative. :stuck_out_tongue:

Truth comes first as they say in their promos… oh wait

Seems to be an element of mob mentality with social media hating on one contestant and blaming the judges when their favourite doesn’t cook well enough on the day (pretty clearly IMO). I would be more criticising the format of the GF and asking why a service challenge might have been a fairer contest than the pressure test. Both finalists deserved to be there and it was great to see substantial prize money for 2nd place.

But they did a service challenge yesterday and on the first Back To Win GF

It was a fantastic finale and both Callum and Laura gave their very best.

I do feel this season to be quite drawn out especially with 7-8 contestants left. I notice that this season had 60 episodes, 10 more than season 15 and 16, and only two episodes less than season 14.

Could the reason for the longer be channel 7 having a holdback clause for Big Brother not allowing channel 10 to start casting/airing the show sooner?

Was a long season. 10 could have cut it by a week or two easily.

But overall, i didn’t mind the season.

I do hope that there is a big gap until the next “all stars” / “back to win” etc is on. Back to everyday people competing.
