MasterChef Australia

It is just for the TV. Challenges usually take place on weekdays, they are rarely filmed on weekends. From what I understand, the show is filmed every second day or so - contestants cook on day one, do some narration during the kitchen clean-up, then come back the next day to do more recounts.

Some reactions from those taking part in season 2 of Celebrity MasterChef Australia.

I think that’s the problem, many don’t properly realise what this means until it is too late.

At least this show will have some sort of a chance to thrive with this line-up. Some A-list names along with the usual AFL stars, comedian, international guest etc.

And good to hear they’re keeping it short but it still runs the risk of over-exposing the format so they’ll have to tread carefully on that front.

Looking at the betting odds for the winner of the current season it seems its pretty clear who wins…

Who’s that?

Wrong show I think lol

Oh really? That has to be only on the basis of last nights episode and the position they are in?

Not who I would think is going to take it out at all.

As far as I can remember this person has been near the top of the betting odds since the season began. And given the difference in odds between 1st and 2nd place, pretty sure they have indeed won.

I don’t think it’s fatigue… It’s more likely because this has not been a great season. It is the first time I am missing episodes here and there and don’t bother catching up.

I actually think that Celeb MasterChef could do better than this season. As I’ve said previously last year proved that a ā€œthemedā€ season works and this year is showing less interest in just the same old long season of home cooks.

I would like to see MasterChef go to 2 short and sharp seasons per year. That way it keeps it exciting without the long standard season. One could be a themed season towards the start of the year (even with new contestants but make it a smaller cast with something unique about that seasons theme or cast) and then the second can be a celeb/professional/all stars/ whatever.

That is very unexpected if true. I barely even noticed that contestant was there until the other night.

I like Tommy, hope he wins this season

I’m in the same boat, find myself missing episodes and not bothering to catch up, but when I do watch it I still enjoy it. I absolutely love Mel, Jock and Andy they are fantastic.

One element I’m drawing tired of is the lack of episodes outside of the Masterchef Kitchen, I miss the onsite and restaurant challenges without them each episode feels like it melds into the next.

Do you think ten will go after manu now that he is reportedly off contract with seven? Especially with masterchefs ratings drop this year?!?

I hope not. I’m not sure what he would add or bring to the show that isn’t already covered by the other judges.

As someone who doesn’t watch MasterChef I don’t really care whether or not Manu Fieldel becomes a judge next year.

But at the same time, it wouldn’t overly surprise me if Ten/EndemolShine (along with Nine and other production companies) did try and acquire his services.

Surely it would put the final nail in MKR coffin

There is an offsite challenge tonight. It took place at Three Blue Ducks restaurant at Urbnsurf, near Melbourne Airport. Jock said at the start of episode that there would be no eliminations until the end of the week (i.e. next Sunday with the double elimination).

Also according to advanced guides, the cooking challenges at Uluru and Simpson’s Gap in NT will air next Monday and Tuesday nights (June 28-29) respectively.

Yeah me too. We used to get at least one a week in past seasons but we didn’t get many in the first half of the season. It seems like they are finally amping those up now. Maybe they were waiting until there were less contestants to do more offsite and restaurant service challenges. The Lune challenge and tonight’s Three Blue Ducks have been particular good off site challenges.

They don’t necessarily need Manu for any MKR revamp. They probably don’t need MKR in the future anyway.
