MasterChef Australia

Has MasterChef Australia ever had a guest judge feature on the show who wasn’t a chef or someone prominent in the food industry?

While I can understand the synergy behind having Katy Perry’s appearance, am uncomfortable with the gimmicky nature of it

Yes. Nathan Jones was a judge one season when the challenge was to cook for the Melbourne Demons. I’m sure there’d be others.

There were quite a few guest judges in season 3 back in 2011, including Qantas CEO Alan Joyce and the Dalai Lama.

Was prince Charles a guest judge?

What a salty comment section on that Facebook post

People really need to get over Gary, George and Matt not being there. The show was way down in ratings last year with them there and needed refreshing. I for one am excited for the new season more than I would be if it was the same old.

I certainly hope that at the very least, Jock, Andy and Melissa has the chemistry that Matt Gary and George which was one of the elements that made the show the success it was.

Prince Charles was a guest in the Darwin episode when he attended a function for the Royal Flying Doctors Service but he didn’t judge.

You can’t attribute the show’s declined performance last year solely or mostly on the previous judges when there were a range of factors at play.

In regards to the criticism about the new judges, it’s vital (as Tom said above) that they ‘gel’ well as a panel. Fairly or unfairly, Melissa, Andy and Jock going to be compared extensively to Gary, George & Matt and if the new trio don’t have good chemistry - the complaints/criticisms about 10’s decision to dump the original judges will only grow louder

I actually found the judge’s chemistry to be part of the problem with Masterchef lately, like most reality shows because they are the constant it starts becoming all about them, all their joking about, even little things like calling the contestants by nicknames annoyed me. I am actually looking forward to the new judges and hope they are a little more withdrawn.

They did a challenge on an A380.

The contestants did the prep in the MasterChef kitchen, then transported the ingredients to Sydney Airport and completed their dishes in the galley of a Qantas A380. The judges including Alan Joyce and Neil Perry tasted the dishes on the tarmac.

10 today released a new promo focusing on the three new judges.

Imagine if Gordon was a permanent judge with Jock, Andy and Melissa…

April 13 is the earliest premiere date in MasterChef Australia’s history. Season 2 premiered on April 19, 2010.

Probably should be reserved for the 10 schedules topic but…

If Survivor finale is on the 30th of March and DWTS is on 5th April then what will air between the two weeks? Filler?

This’ll bomb hard. 10 to experience their worst mid-year winter run since 2013 (network audience collapse) and 2008 (BB final season flop). Axe this shit. Waste of $50m every year. Cooking is dead, fresh stuff please.

…is a comment I bet ya’ll didn’t expect from Sully. Replies (if any) will be interesting
