MasterChef Australia

Curtis Stone and Heston Blumenthal mentioned as guest judges next season.

And Gordon Ramsay apparently.

I really would have thought Poh would have got a look in, also who does Andy know? Why do they love him so much? There shouldn’t be any ex contestants as judges imo

Does the old idiom “never trust a skinny chef” also apply to Masterchef judges?

I think the new judges combined with an All Stars season is a smart move. The new judges give the show a fresh new angle but having previous contestants is kind of adding something from the past that means it’s still the same show that we love.

I’m more interested in the type of contestants they select this season. Will it be early boots from seasons who didn’t get a lot out of the show so need another go? Or will it be people who did well and made it far?

I’m thinking also if it’s All Stars the season could be a bit shorter? A lot might not be able to commit for as long as the original seasons.

The three new judges will appear on The Project tonight.

I think it will be the former.

10 Daily have put together a ‘wish list’ (one form each season) from a potential list of 250, saying

…very best from former ‘MasterChef’ cooks who have been honing their skills for years now.

Over the last 11 seasons, there have been over 250 contestants taking part in Pressure Tests and Mystery Box Challenges and, while we don’t yet know who will be returning, we’ve started putting together a dream cast of our faves.

Taking you back to 2009 right up til 2019 – and excluding the winners for obvious reasons – here’s our pick for the ‘Back To Win’ cast.

There will be no auditions this season and for all we know filming will start next week. These announcements are often made at the last minute.

Then why does the press release say “Jock, Melissa and Andy will commence filming MasterChef Australia – Back To Win in Melbourne in early 2020”?

Anyway, here is The Project’s chat with the three judges.

Utterly relieved Matt Sinclair didn’t get a judging gig.

Why?

The new judges told News Corp they had received messages from Gary, George and Matt congratulating on the gig.

Because [insert conspiracy theory].

Or because I didn’t read the whole thing.

If filming doesn’t start until next year I wouldn’t be surprised if Masterchef is pushed back slightly and 10 have something else planned between Apri-June

I guess 10 is fearing that that the late start will not allow for enough time for post production, especially towards the latter stages of competition. Compare this with The Amazing Race Australia.

The new Masterchef judges are an absolute disaster, especially the female choice. The new season will be dead on arrival.

And to not do a background check that includes her awful tweets about the show and past contestants? Another Bev clanger.

How to kill the golden goose 101.

It wasn’t a golden goose…

An 11 year run that rakes in revenue, and is highly profitable for the network is indeed a golden goose.

Do you have any evidence that it is ‘highly profitable’ for 10? Because it was quite expensive for 10 to produce, they then had high salaries for the judges. It didn’t rate that well, average at best, so probably didn’t acquire premium advertising dollars here in Australia.
