Married at First Sight

Episode 32 Dinner Party

The couples have returned from Homestays and are eager to catch up on each other’s progress at tonight’s Dinner Party.

After 10 days away having surgery, LAUREN is the most excited of all, having returned on a high from a successful, reconnected and intimate homestay in Perth with husband JONATHAN. But all is not well between LAUREN and friend and TORI, who conspicuously failed to check in with her regarding her recent medical treatment. LAUREN suspects JACK’s influence is the real reason behind the apparent demise of their friendship but is hopeful she’ll be able to clear the air tonight.

TORI’s, having finally consummated her marriage to JACK on Homestays, is looking forward to sharing her news with the group who have been questioning their lack of intimacy since day one.

Meanwhile LUCINDA and TIMOTHY are in crisis having returned from Melbourne separately. While LUCINDA is ready to share some honest feedback with her husband, TIMOTHY has had time to reflect on his reactions and is ready to face the music.

While all the couples arrive at the cocktail party, EDEN and JAYDEN have been delayed by a fight about Homestays and EDEN’s nerves about facing the group’s questions about their relationship. EDEN’s aversion to conflict has her terrified this argument will soon spiral into another at the dinner table.

LUCINDA and TIMOTHY are first to air their grievances at the table and take their chat outside where they reach a positive conclusion, with LUCINDA admitting it is hard to stay angry with hunky TIMOTHY. He apologises for his behaviour, and they hug it out.

Back at the table, as TORI and JACK take the floor to share their news and plans to the disbelieving group, JACK reveals he has offered a room in the Gold Coast TORI. LAUREN seizes the opportunity to question them both about JACK’s history of offensive behaviours, and TORI’S habit of letting offensive things slide. The conversation soon amps up and TIMOTHY accuses the pair of faking their sex life. TORI reaches boiling point and makes a final and explosive revelation: she intends never to speak to anyone in the group after the experiment. LAUREN, in particular, is hurt. With TORI publicly ending her friendship with LAUREN, she finds herself completely isolated from the group.

Meanwhile EDEN can no longer sit quietly at the table and heading to the other room, she and JAYDEN begin talking out their issues. But instead of talking it out, it appears EDEN simply agrees with everything JAYDEN says to keep the peace and they continue to go in circles – a conflict style the experts must unpack on the couch at the next Commitment Ceremony.

Agree. I’m really confused why people are siding with Eden here too. Eden has come on a show where you are expected to talk about your relationship. She was literally the one that called out Sara for doing the wrong thing but when things are not perfect in her relationship, she doesn’t even want to front up to the dinner party. So why does she think it’s ok to be fake and not talk about hers the second it’s not perfect? She’s clearly on the wrong show and probably should just leave.

Does anyone know how many episodes we have remaining of this season? It seems like Nine are going to pad out the season through the Easter non-ratings as next week it’s only on Sunday/Monday (with a commitment ceremony Sunday followed by another dinner party on Monday which seems odd). I’m wondering if then the following week if it’s going to end with the vows/reunion eps or if there will just be 2 per week from now on with the vows one week and reunion eps the next.

I can see why, we are all very aware of mental problems these days and her social anxiety is certainly a mental problem. I do however find her annoying and she should be able to explain to Jayden. I think what she’s saying is that she wants to leave, with him, but she is not expressing herself clearly.

I cannot understand Tori and why she cannot see through Jack and his bad behaviour. Maybe they need to stay with each other! I don’t think so though, in fact I don’t believe there will be any long term relationships from this season.

Episode 33 Final Commitment Ceremony

It’s the morning of the final Commitment Ceremony and after more than 8 weeks in the experiment, tonight the remaining six couples will make the important decision to stay in the experiment and continue to final vows or leave their marriages for good – for the last time.

Following last night’s Dinner Party, a loved-up SARA and TIM are excited to show off how far they’ve come in this experiment. For EDEN and JAYDEN, the argument they had last night has boiled over to this morning, and the pair are currently in gridlock. EDEN wants to avoid conflict, while JAYDEN wants to be able to discuss his feelings openly. The pair aren’t sure how to move forward. For LAUREN and JONO homestays reignited the flame between them. And while they’re currently feeling closer than ever, this morning TORI has found out some shocking information that threatens to blow up LAUREN and JONATHAN’S relationship.

The first couple on the couch is EDEN and JAYDEN. The pair have been struggling to deal with conflict, and their fight at last night’s dinner party highlighted their issues with communication. EDEN feels she needs to ‘bow down’ to JAYDEN and like she doesn’t have a voice in this relationship. JAYDEN doesn’t agree, but Expert JOHN calls him out for his toxic fight style. JOHN helps JAYDEN understand that he needs to spend more time listening to EDEN and less time trying to be right. JAYDEN has a breakthrough, revealing he doesn’t feel good enough for EDEN. EDEN thinks JAYDEN is more than enough for her, and they both decide to stay.

Next on the couch is JADE and RIDGE. They had a fantastic homestay with JADE’s family, but JADE is moved to tears when she shares her insecurities about having a long-distance relationship as she’s worried RIDGE might move on and find someone else. RIDGE reassures JADE that he only has eyes for her. He’s committed to making long distance work, and if it does, he intends to move to the Gold Coast to live with her. They both admit they’re falling in love with each other. The couple choose to stay.

For TIMOTHY and LUCINDA, the couch is an opportunity for LUCINDA to unpack some of the things that disappointed her about their homestay. She felt unwelcome at TIMOTHY’s house and like he didn’t really want her around. TIMOTHY admits he didn’t have the best attitude going into homestays and didn’t really make an effort. LUCINDA has given everything to this experiment, but she feels like TIMOTHY hasn’t reciprocated her efforts. She reads a heartfelt but honest poem before revealing she has chosen to leave. TIMOTHY has also decided to leave, but it’s on good terms and they both hope to continue their friendship.

Next on the couch is a loved-up SARA and TIM. The couple have transformed their relationship over the past few weeks, after it was revealed that SARA was meeting up with her ex-boyfriend behind TIM’s back. Since then, SARA has been trying to make it up to TIM, and it’s working: TIM is feeling valued, and they’re both smitten. They both choose to stay.

TORI and JACK have some big news to discuss this week: they’ve had sex. They both feel like it has brought them closer, and that they are falling for each other. At last night’s Dinner Party, the group once again questioned the authenticity of their relationship, and TORI becomes emotional, breaking down as she admits that it feels like she has no friends or support from the group. LAUREN interjects that she has TORI’s back, but she still holds concerns for the relationship, and questions TORI’s attitude towards some of JACK’s poor behaviours. Despite what the group think though, the couple feel as though they are in the strongest place they’ve ever been. Both decide to stay.

The final couple on the couch is LAUREN and JONATHAN. They both feel their homestay in Perth was a turning point for their relationship; their feelings for each other are the strongest they’ve ever been, and intimacy is back in their relationship. TORI listens with a look of disgust and disbelief. While JONATHAN continues to celebrate the success of their homestay, TORI interrupts, dropping a bombshell: JONATHAN has been texting former bride ELLIE. LAUREN is shocked and JONATHAN attempts to explain that it’s nothing – just a friend keeping ELLIE updated. When questioned by Expert ALESSANDRA, JONATHAN denies that there is anything romantic between himself and ELLIE. Meanwhile LAUREN admits she has been traumatised by betrayals in her past relationships and this is how they started too. She breaks down on the couch and JONATHAN apologises. They both stay, but LAUREN is hurt, angry and keen to find out more about the situation.

Most of the season I’ve been with the rest of the cast about it’s all Jack etc how can Tori not see through him.

After last nights episode, as far as I’m concerned, they deserve each other. What a petty thing Tori did to poor Lauren. Absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for.

Lucinda was on Today Extra this morning apparently with hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington.

The Daily Fail thinks Today Extra is hosted by Natalie Barr & Matt Shirvington… They’re such hacks!

How was it doing something petty to Lauren? Tori did the right thing to call Jono out, just like Eden did the right thing to call out Sara the other week. It’s been pretty widely reported that Jono was cheating on Lauren (and is now in a relationship with Ellie). Jono is the one in the wrong here… not Tori.

How do you think Tori found out? Jono and Ellie have not hidden their relationship at all and I beleive were reprimanded for doing so when it all leaked weeks ago.

The producers would have planted this for the dramatic finale.

Tori and Jack are so fake its not funny though.

He is, however, Tori did not do this out of sympathy or empathy for he ex-friend Lauren rather out of spite. As I’ve said before and others have also said, her and Jack deserve each other. They are not very nice people! According to reports they are still together, as they say like finds like!

Both situations are entirely different.

Eden did it out of care for Tim. Tori did it out of spite for Lauren. She pretty much said it word for word. “Lauren’s spent all season in being in my relationship she can see how it feels”. Something along those lines.

Massive difference to Edens motives.

So basically you are saying that it would have been better for Lauren to not be made aware of what was going on?

The fact is that Jono was pursuing something with Ellie and they have been together since the show wrapped up.

But hey, somehow Tori is the bad guy here. I don’t like Tori either but it’s good that she has said something.

I didn’t say that.

Surely you must see the difference here? Eden did it out of love and concern, Tori did it out of bitterness and revenge.

She could have done it like Eden from a caring perspective but she didn’t.

Jono deserved to be caught out of course but you cannot deny that Tori loved being the one to do it.

I might add: to say they’ve been together since the show ended makes no sense in this particular instance as at this point the show hasn’t ended. We don’t know if they were actually together throughout the experiment so at this particular point in time (episode time) he hasn’t really done anything wrong yet as far as we know. If the DailyMail didn’t exist we wouldn’t know the “after the experiment” information.

Episode 34

In the wake of last night’s Commitment Ceremony, the couples are in shock over JONATHAN’S texting scandal with former bride ELLIE. Some are in disbelief that JONATHAN of all people would be at the centre of a potential cheating scandal and anticipate LAUREN’S fiery reaction.

In her apartment, LAUREN is still reeling from the revelation. She feels especially betrayed following their homestay in Perth where they had been intimate again – she wonders if he was texting ELLIE at the time. She requests to go through JONATHAN’S phone, which he allows. As she scrolls through, she discovers the volume of messages is far greater than he’d admitted. Even more troubling, the messages are quite flirtatious, and LAUREN fails to find a single mention of herself in the texts from either JONATHAN or ELLIE. JONATHAN offers half-hearted apologies, and the discussion becomes increasingly heated until JONATHAN awkwardly exits.

Meanwhile, the other couples prepare for the upcoming Dinner Party. JADE and RIDGE remain positive following the Commitment Ceremony, where RIDGE revealed he’s falling in love with JADE. However, in the back of her mind, JADE still harbours some doubts over RIDGE’s immaturity. Also in a good place are TIM and SARA, who are on an upward trajectory after SARA’s infidelity. TORI and JACK revel in not being at the centre of controversy for once, and gloat over JONATHAN being in the firing line.

TORI and JACK arrive first to the cocktail party and bask in being the happy “boring couple”. EDEN and JAYDEN are next to arrive, much improved as a couple from where they were at the last Commitment Ceremony. LAUREN arrives alone and proceeds to fill the rest of the group in on the situation with JONATHAN. The remaining couples arrive and join the conversation. Finally, JONATHAN makes an awkward entrance, noticeably failing to greet LAUREN.

The drama immediately kicks off at the dinner table, as SARA proposes a toast to JONATHAN texting ELLIE. The group questions JONATHAN over the messages, though he continues to deflect any suggestion of wrongdoing. Things escalate when TORI reveals JONATHAN’s admission to JACK in earlier weeks that he wishes he’d been matched with ELLIE, devastating LAUREN. The discussion is interrupted by the arrival of the honesty boxes.

The couples tackle their honesty boxes one by one. SARA and TIM both admit they’re on the way to falling in love, and he admits he believes she’s over her ex. Despite disdain from the others, TORI and JACK remain outwardly strong together. JADE tells RIDGE he’s made her feel like she can fall in love again but fires up when RIDGE shows off to the table with childish behaviour. RIDGE quickly wins her back by reaffirming she’s the one for him, his commitment to being a father figure to her daughter, and his plan to move to the Gold Coast to be with her within 3 months.

The honesty box quickly turns into a head-to-head between LAUREN and JONATHAN, with LAUREN taking the opportunity to interrogate JONATHAN over the messages with ELLIE. JONATHAN again attempts to deflect any wrongdoing, and even tries to shift the blame for his behaviour onto LAUREN. JONATHAN denies having any feelings for ELLIE, leading JACK to ask if he would have had a better experience with ELLIE. Backed into a corner, JONATHAN finally admits he thinks he would have had an easier time matched with anyone other than LAUREN. Incensed, LAUREN tells JONATHAN he’s the fakest person she’s ever met.

Finally, EDEN kicks off her honesty box by asking JAYDEN how he feels about her, to which he immediately responds, “I love you”. The table breaks into delighted applause, while EDEN hugs JAYDEN and whispers “I love you too” in his ear. The table toasts to the happy couple, while EDEN throws away the remaining

Nova 969’s Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie hosted a dinner with current season cast and fans at The Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney (where the dinner party is filmed) on Wednesday night. Guests were asked to submit questions on arrival, and it was up to the hosts to ask the juicy questions.

Episode 35 Final vows

As the experiment draws to a close, the final five couples are faced with the weighty decision of whether to continue their journey together beyond the confines of the experiment or go their separate ways. Among the first to confront this pivotal moment are couples JADE and RIDGE, LAUREN and JONATHAN and TORI and JACK.

For JADE and RIDGE, the impending separation casts a sombre shadow as they reflect on their journey and envision a hopeful future together. RIDGE is determined to prove his commitment and readiness to embrace the role of stepfather to JADE’S daughter and be the mature partner Jade needs and wants.

Meanwhile, tensions run high between LAUREN and JONATHAN following a heated Dinner Party marred by JONATHAN’s refusal to acknowledge fault surrounding his questionable interactions via texts with former bride, ELLIE. In separate apartments, they prepare to leave the experiment, both wrestling with the reality of their fractured relationship and the Final Vow ceremony they will face.

In JACK and TORI’s apartment, TORI is filled with apprehension as the reality of their impending separation weighs on her. Her feelings for JACK are strong, and the thought of leaving him is hitting her hard. Meanwhile, JACK struggles with his own inner turmoil, filled with hesitation and uncertainty of the decision he is going to make.

After departing from Skye Suites, the couples are granted some solitude to deliberate on their respective decisions. JADE, giddy with excitement and missing RIDGE, is filled with hopeful anticipation of their potential fairytale ending. However, a heartfelt conversation with her mother bursts her bubble, bringing to light the weighty responsibility that RIDGE will need to shoulder as a stepfather. Her mother worries if RIDGE proves capable of maturing and stepping up to the plate.

As they near the Final Vows ceremony, RIDGE appears unwavering in his commitment to the relationship and is ready to start his future with his dream girl, JADE. Will JADE overcome her fears that party boy RIDGE will be able to be the responsible father and husband she needs him to be?

Meanwhile, LAUREN reflects on the warning signs of JONATHAN’s burgeoning infatuation with ELLIE, leading her to the unsettling conclusion that he was actively building a relationship with someone else while LAUREN was trying to build a relationship with him. Fueled by anger and betrayal, LAUREN is ready to confront JONATHAN, however, he sees things differently. He accuses LAUREN of being a liar, claiming that she has misrepresented his actions and twisted the truth about his messages with ELLIE to make them look more flirtatious than they actually were. Donning all black, JONATHAN makes his way to the vows with dread for what LAUREN is going to throw his way.

Finally, TORI and JACK stand on the brink of a decision that could irrevocably alter the course of their relationship. While TORI is head over heels and deeply enamoured with JACK, his internal turmoil threatens to derail their future. Fears of uprooting TORI’s life for the uncertain prospect of a future on the Gold Coast weigh heavily on JACK’s mind.

At the first Final Vow Ceremony, RIDGE pours his heart out to JADE, expressing how she has transformed him into a better man and declaring his readiness to shoulder the responsibilities of their relationship. Professing his obsession with her, he eagerly anticipates starting their life together. However, JADE, harbouring concerns about RIDGE’s maturity and behaviour, casts a shadow of doubt over their future. Yet, as the vows unfold, she finds solace in her deep affection for RIDGE, acknowledging the happiness and security he has brought into her life. Despite her reservations, she decides to give their relationship a chance beyond the experiment.

As LAUREN and JONATHAN stand face to face at the final vows, the tension is palpable. JONATHAN staunchly defends himself, insisting that his messages with ELLIE were innocent and accusing LAUREN of tarnishing his reputation with her lies. However, LAUREN finds his claims laughable and lays bare her grievances before ending their union for good.

Episode 36 Final vows

After nearly three months, the Married at First Sight experiment has come to an end, and it’s time for the remaining couples TORI and JACK, EDEN and JAYDEN and SARA and TIM to make the ultimate choice: will they take their love story out into the real world or leave it all behind?

TORI and JACK stand face to face at their Final Vows ceremony on the brink of a decision that could irrevocably alter the course of their relationship. TORI vows that she is prepared to uproot her life and move to the Gold Coast to cement her future with JACK and is head over heels for him. But JACK fears uprooting TORI’s life for the uncertain prospect of a future on the Gold Coast with him, especially given they are not in love. Nevertheless, JACK announces that the risk is worth it, and although his vows leave TORI confused, the couple ultimately decide to pursue a future together.

For SARA and TIM, the experiment has been undeniably tumultuous, however as the experiment draws to an end their bond has grown and SARA finds herself riddled with regret at how she treated TIM during the experiment and for not seeing that TIM was the man she had been looking for all along. SARA hopes TIM will be able to look beyond their troubled past so that they can have a future together beyond Final Vows.

TIM is excited about where they are as a couple, but as SARA and TIM say their goodbyes before separating to deliberate on their future together, TIM is flooded with memories of SARA’s regrettable behaviour, which poses the question…can TIM forget the past?

Meanwhile love birds EDEN and JAYDEN are glowing after last night’s Dinner Party Honesty Box confession, where JAYDEN revealed to EDEN and the group that he is in love with EDEN. Their affection for each other is palpable as they say their goodbyes and separate to deliberate on their future beyond the experiment.

In a romantic barn setting, EDEN and JAYDEN are reunited at their Final Vow Ceremony. Surrounded by a sea of candles, the couple declare their love for one another and share their hopes of a happily ever-after.

In Sydney, SARA is back home missing TIM and reflecting on how far she has come both personally and romantically throughout the experiment. Having come to the experiment to free herself from her ex’s hold on her, she is confident that she has made room for TIM in her heart. However, on the Gold Coast TIM has returned home conflicted after memories of the hard times continue to hound him. Does he make a call on his future with SARA by looking at the past? Or does he trust his heart and the way he feels about her now?

The day of Final Vows arrives for SARA and TIM. SARA is more certain than ever that there is a future for her and TIM and cannot wait to be reunited with him.

But it’s a very different story for TIM who is still struggling to decide whether to follow his head or heart.

As SARA and TIM reunite at their Final Vows ceremony, she is filled with hope that they will continue their relationship beyond the experiment. For TIM, after reminding SARA of the pain she has caused him, he declares that he does want a future with her. SARA cries tears of joy and they hug and kiss, before walking off into the sunset hand in hand.

That was the season final with 2 reunion episodes to follow next week.
