Love Island Australia

I have really enjoyed this season. It’s not may favourite thing on TV but it’s been good to have something regular I can flick on later that is light and doesn’t matter if I miss some of it. I think the casting wasn’t as good as the first season and it took a bit longer to get into it but this season found its feet after a couple of weeks.

I really hope that Anna and Josh win… for me out of both seasons they appear to be the most genuine couple. I have also grown to like Josh a lot more since his brother has gone. He’s definitely a bit more likeable and laid back than his bro.

Tonight this clashes with Bachelorette finale (and a 2 hour Survivor ep on Go tonight) so I’m going to need to switch my phone off to get through all these spoiler free. At least next week my TV schedule is limited so I can get out more

For me this season has been really boring with this year’s UK season being much more entertaining with bigger personalities.

I’ve never watched the UK version, but generally their reality shows are a lot crazier (like Big Brother). They are good at casting crazier and more controversial people.

Yes - this Australian season has been missing the care factor for me. Possibly the cast, but more likely the production - too many new cast members have made it hard for any relationships to form.

The final week has seen the audience drop by about 1/3 - so far this week lowest Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday audiences of the season.

I would say it’s to do with 2 out of 3 finale couples only been developed in the past week or so.

Josh and Anna deserve the win on that alone.

This week has been so boring.

Yeah the last week is the most boring week of the show with everyone in a couple. I think last night should have been the finale, they could have had those final dates then Sophie could come in and announce the winners. Then it also wouldn’t have been up against The Bachelorette finale. Both shows hit similar demos so I think Love Island finale will suffer being up against it.

Well it was mad to have the finale on the same night as the bachelorette

So will viewers find it?

I was expecting Love Island to run until next week or the week after (bearing in mind the ARIA Awards are on November 27).

I think they should have finished it last week. It’s dragging.

Anna and Josh won season two.

That was the only tolerable outcome. Phew!

People complaining about this season being boring makes me think we deserve (and need) MAFS

That’s because compared to the original UK version both seasons of Love Island Australia were really boring. There is not one memorable thing that happened this season.

The final week time-adjusted rating for Love Island were:

Sunday on 9Go 129,000
Monday 252,000
Tuesday 233,000
Wednesday 224,000
Thursday Final 255,000
Nine originally coded the final so that it included a winner’s announcement but that rated lower than the rest of the program so it seems that they reverted to one number for the entire show.

 Good work, Nine. Just manipulate the ratings system for your own benefit every time. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The Winners Announcement was at 10.10pm or something. It was never going to increase on the episode.

Love Island couples must have shorter contracts than The Bachelor :frowning:
