it appears KIIS1065 has already dumped the KIIStory 60 minutes after Kyle and Jackie O.

KIIS announcers on weekends were usually on rotation but i noticed lately it happened only on saturdays and sundays only Missy doing 10am-4pm on Sundays. I guess sheā€™s back permanently on weekends.:blush:

Thereā€™s a billion other names they couldā€™ve called it. Surely.

Anyone else noticed Will & Woody now only for 1hr weekdays 5-6pm on 96FM?

Iā€™d say the reason for this is so that the show can be live to Perth. Does that mean no mentions of any local station branding on the show? (I think they used to mention KIIS during some local breaks at times).

I wonā€™t say too much, but thereā€™s a reason the 96 schedule has changed several times over recent months. Dropping Will & Woody previously wasnā€™t just an error on the website.

Hopefully theyā€™ll drop W&W and K&JO, pull in the Jonesy and Amanda best of show, and rebrand as a Pure Gold station. :crossed_fingers:t3:

Even go 100% local and unique identity

You donā€™t hire Gary Roberts just to have Sydney tell him what to do, Iā€™ll say that.

So youā€™re saying ARN dropped W&W from 96 and Gary brought them back?

If thatā€™s so, I wouldā€™ve let them go. Bringing them back for a live hour is better than pre-record, but then why drop them in the first place?

Other way around.

W&W was dumped totally in Perth because it didnā€™t fit the station sound, plus 96 now has three local jocks in weekdays. W&W was brought back 4-6pm, then the Oā€™Connell hour was added, leaving both Russell Clarke and Kendall Crake with two hour shifts (2-4 and 8-10 respectively).

Network drive is now reduced to just the 5pm hour, while retaining Kyle & Jackie at 6 and Oā€™Connell at 7. I suspect W&W was reinstated because of national sales packages having been sold for 5 markets rather than 4, but then thereā€™s that recent contract extension too at play. I also donā€™t think itā€™s a live hour, happy to be corrected though.

They should have the followingā€¦
6-9am - Boticaā€™s Bunch
9-1pm - Mark Pascoe
1-5pm - Russell Clarke
5-6pm - Jonesy & Amanda
6-7pm - Christian Oā€™Connell
7-10pm - Kendall Crake (Requests)
Rebrand as a Pure Gold station and put KIIS Perth on digital.

Iā€™m thinking the same thing. W&W air 4-6pm in the eastern states, which is 2-4pm On WA time, and 1-3pm WA during daylight savings.

Also, Macca is doing 1-5pm temporarily, with Russell Clarke covering breakfast.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Radio History

Kyle and Jackie O will be on holidays from Monday. Gordie will be on holidays as well for 1 week so looks like it will be Mitch and Missy filling in their spots.

This week, 96fmā€™s Mark ā€˜Smileyā€™ Pascoe celebrated 30 years on Perth radio.
