But since they are low lifes, they did not do that.
And you know whatâs even crazier? Back then (circa 2010) other shows also did that âDearly Deportedâ segment because Iâm guessing it was considered to be compelling radio back then?
Hereâs a mention of the segment from ACMA.
The Kyle and Jackie O Showâs former executive producer has revealed for the first time why he quit the breakfast radio show, saying the role often reduced him to tears and turned him into a person he didnât like.
Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola worked on the KIIS FM radio program for years before being promoted to EP in early 2023.
Two months ago he shocked listeners, and the radio industry, when he announced on air that he had resigned.
Pedro, as heâs known to regular listeners of the breakfast show, this week opened up about his decision to leave in a podcast called I Wear The Pants which he co-hosts with his wife, Patty.
The relentless work schedule strained Pedroâs relationship with his wife, who was pregnant with their first child during his tenure as EP.
Iâm not surprised- apparently from what Iâve heard many of the producers work up to 12 hours most days to put the show together.
Thatâs a surprising read. From looking at the K&J socials at the time, it looked like Pedro was quite the wild type - so I am surprised to read that the role left him in tears.
It seems like most of the producers who have left that show say that they have been somewhat traumatised by the experience. It suggests that this is a very toxic workplace.
Wouldnât shock me given how little work Vile and Tacky actually do
Would K&J be harder to work for? Or would Hadley?
At the end of the day - and I do not endorse any form of employee abuse - but if youâre just not âup to itâ, then do not apply for the role. These radio shows are consistently number one for a reason.
And look at those who have succeeded - Bruno, Gemma, etc. onto other better roles.
NO ONE should be abused at work. itâs not right and I frankly donât give a flying f**k who it is. using excuses like âthey are not up to itâ is a cop out.
To work for K&J, you must be able & willing to do insane things.
I agree with earlier comments - there must surely be a clause in their contract which allows them (K&J) to get away with some of these things we see each day (e.g. recording staff urinate).
I worked with a young woman who went to K&J and lasted only days.
She was far far far too good for them, and couldnât stand the culture.
Exactly. He applied for it before he had a kid, and maybe now itâs too demanding of a job to do while juggling a newborn, but thatâs never an excuse for workplace abuse and bullying under any circumstances.
At least with Hadley you get to produce somewhat decent news worthy content - with Kyle and Jackie O, all you get to do is work out how they can get away with their next segment without going to court.
Sevenâs Rosanna Mangiarelli will fill in for Ali Clarke on Mix 102.3âs breakfast show alongside Max Burford, starting today, after Clarke revealed on air last Friday that she is having a second mastectomy as a âsafetyâ precaution and will take several weeks off the air.
Interesting development today on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.
It appears one producer has suddenly decided not to engage with Kyleâs bullying on air.
She mentioned she had a skin lift and he said her double chin was still showing and in a real monotone voice she replied that it was under her eyes that were worked on not her chin.
In a second conversation roughly 15 minutes later Kyle asked if the new bacheloretteâs will be âin slutty dresses, the old birdsâ, referring to The Golden Bachelor and the same producer, in the same sarcastic monotone voice said, âask Sam (Armytage), I dunnoâ.
Just something noteworthy I guess.
Everyone has their breaking pointâŚand then they quit. ![]()

It seems this thread is becoming more of a Kyle and Jackie O thread than a KIIS Network thread, perhaps we should start a new thread focusing on the duo and move all K&J posts to the respective thread? It would make more sense.
Really, without K&J, what is KIIS anyway?
Theyâre running the same risk SCA did, by building a network around talent whoâll eventually one day move on, leaving a gaping hole to fill.
Look at how the 2DayFM brand has struggled post K&J.
The only difference, is at least 2DayFM had a strong presence even before K&J took on breakfast.
I know theyâve sent Intern Pete and Cooper down a few times this year but have Kyle and Jackie themselves actually broadcasted from Melbourne yet?
I donât believe so.
