It’s only a repeat for Melbourne. It’s new content for the other 3 cities
Ryan Jon has hosted breakfast shows in Perth and Canberra on the Hit Network. He’s currently the day announcer in Melbourne
If that’s very little on air experience, I’m guessing Kyle Sandilands only has “some on air experience” to you?
Have you actually listened to their podcasts @radioguy?
Publicity stunt. Like every other ‘news article’ about KIIS that appears in the Daily Mail. Surely people are onto them by now?
The Daily Mail did another story on the KJSHOW this morning on Jackieo
Yeah they do them often. It’s paid promotion disguised as a news article.
Pedro and Intern Pete are the weak links in that show. Would be better off without both.
Radio star Kyle Sandilands has sensationally banned NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet from appearing on his show just a day after the new leader got the top job.
Sandilands made the bold call while he and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson were speaking to a celebrity psychic on KIIS FM.
The trio were discussing concerns around the Premier’s conservative views, with psychic medium Georgina Walker calling him a “strong leader” before predicting it isn’t likely he will be popular.
During the segment Sandilands announced he didn’t like Mr Perrottet’s “vibe”.
ok…
I doubt Dominic Perrottet is particularly bothered about being banned from KIIS, when he’ll likely be welcomed on 2GB with open arms!
Jessica Miller will move to the Brisbane station from fellow ARN station KIIS 101.1 in Melbourne to take on the Afternoons announcer role from the end of the month.
In addition, Mornings announcer Daniel Thomas has been promoted to operations manager.
I wonder if this is a move to Brisbane for the stint, or broadcasting out of Melbourne
For such a sensitive topic, I think this was a bit of a silly segment for Will and Woody to do.
That’s a disgrace.
That is outrageous. How on earth did something like that make it through all the lines of approval that would exist (or maybe not) for something like this. Especially given the history Australian commercial radio has with health related prank calls. And without all that, it’s not even funny content. Massive yikes.
IMO, that prank call should result in ARN terminating the employment of Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw.
I actually thought Australian radio networks (or at least SCA) agreed to voluntarily retire the concept of radio prank calls after what happened as a result of that Royal Baby call to London in December 2012. Evidently not.
I doubt they will considering they still employ the likes of Kyle Sandilands. But they need to be disciplined because that, amongst some of the other stuff they’ve put to air, are of poor taste.
And to top it off, they think they’re funny but that’s only in their head. They’re NOT FUNNY.
You’re probably right there.
But surely most people here would consider COVID/vaccine-related prank calls (especially in the current climate) to be beyond the pale?!
They’re the blandest, least talented duo on a major shift right now. Perfect excuse to punt them.
And on not one of the radio industry websites. Not in a media release so too much effort for the dinosaurs?
