I think adds fuel to someone’s thoughts here that Lauren is a band-aid solution for the rest of the ratings year then it will be replaced with a brand new show in 2022.
If I heard and understood correctly, Jase and Lauren are taking a two week break.
That’s right. The show is having a 2 week break.
It makes you further question why the station engaged in the charade of dragging out the announcement
I’m so confused.
Why was Jase so quick to eliminate Lauren accidentally when he knew it was her?
Why promote your competitors by naming them as part of your promotion?
Why take another two weeks off to allow your listeners change their listening habits before you even start?
ARN chief content officer Duncan Campbell said someone else would also join the new Jase & Lauren breakfast show.
“There will also be further announcements coming very soon on who else will be joining Jase & Lauren in the Morning .”
Sounds more like regular guests to me.
Surely PJ will remain as a regular guest.
The way KIIS were carrying on I thought the new cohost was going to be one of the following:
- Jackie O
- Schapelle Corby
- Hamish or Andy
- Alan Jones
- Jacqui Lambie
- The Delta strain of COVID
Good on Lauren.
But the marketing department at KIIS need to stop taking the placebo pills and get stuck into some serious valium or crushed up oxycontin.
Calm the f*** down guys.
The new Instagram account for Jase and Lauren.
Why another two weeks off? A week long build up followed by nothing
If they needed some clear air before starting the new show, they should have delayed their holidays and worked through the survey break
Or they could have used the two weeks to hype up the identity of the new presenter and reveal them first show back. Now they’ve just given people an opportunity to sample the competition for two weeks without a familiar show for them to return to.
The 8am hour with the reveal was incredibly self-indulgent radio too. They really haven’t managed this transition well IMO.
My guess is this is where Jase’s dad getting unwell comes into it. Ie - they couldn’t use the break to do the preparations.
Must admit I’m a bit dumbfounded at all the speculation and comment on this breakfast team. I mean does KIIS 1011 even rate at breakfast?
I’m not sure if 101.1FM Melbourne has ever rated well at breakfast, given that there’s been (to the best of my knowledge) 13 attempts at launching a new brekky show on the station since 2001!
With a track record like this, it honestly wouldn’t be surprise me if Jase & Lauren are replaced by a new KIIS 101.1 breakfast show in 2022.
Yeah that’s true. But I wonder how much more preparation they need with Lauren being all but confirmed ever since PJ announced she was leaving.
This two week break is a mistake
Did fairly well in the TTFM days. Chrissie and Jane went #1FM in one book in the Mix days I’m fairly certain. Perhaps a question for @TelevisionAU or @HUFF?
Edit: Survey 3, 2014. Mix 101.1 was #1FM in breakfast with a 7.5 share. 3AW was well out in front, #1AM and #1 overall with a 17.3 share and 774 ABC not far behind on 16.0.
It’s speculation and comment on a media forum for a metro market, I doubt the average Melbourne radio listener cares.
In saying that, while they’re last out of the three CHR stations they still cume around the million mark, so people do know who they are.
Not something I can shed any light on I’m afraid. I think it had some half-decent breakfast figures back in the TT/MIX days but I have nothing to verify that. Although I think towards the end of the MIX days it did suffer a bit of what 2DAY is going through now by having a rotating roster of breakfast hosts.
