Israel confirmed Doha explosions were strikes targeting senior Hamas leaders.

(Per latest information, they’ve survived.)

The story broke 11.12pm AEST and since then has been rolling or semi-rolling on various news channels not named ABC.

In France, due to the continuing frenzy for the new PM search, only LCI gave this story limited airtime.

Watch how 7, 9 and 20 are gonna bump this to the top of their morning rundowns tomorrow.

Wow, there really is no stopping Israel. Are they going to bomb Aljazeera in Doha as well?

Tonight, it’s understood that the UK and Portugal (no, not jointly) will formally recognise Palestine as a state.

Timing is afternoon local time (approx. between 11pm and 3am AEST).

Don’t know about others but ABC had an interview when the “close to a deal” news broke at the given timestamp.

Sky UK had it at around the same time.

A source tells Sky UK a full ceasefire deal will be announced some time between 7am and 7pm AEDT tomorrow.

Speaking of which, the rally has been blocked.

Summary of court’s decision:

The public safety risk to participants and other members of the public is extreme.

The mitigatory factors advanced by the organisers were not such as to reduce the risk to public safety to an acceptable level.

The court further held that the risk to public safety associated with this public assembly is so significant that it would be irresponsible to allow the public assembly to proceed, irrespective of the political significance of the event and the importance of freedom of political expression.

Michael Rowland and Yvonne Yong will present the coverage from 8.30pm to 11pm AEDT tonight.

ABC’s studio backdrop during ongoing special coverage.

Hostage release process will take place between 4pm and 6pm AEDT. Basically 7 and 9 have been given a golden platter for their newscasts.

More timing notes: Trump will arrive at Israel 5.40pm, address its parliament at 7.15pm, and depart shortly after 9.15pm.

To close out the night, a Gaza peace summit taking place in Egypt will start at 10.40pm. Not sure whether this will be telerecorded.

Seven had a countdown during their story.

Yet their countdown selection is for the deadline of release, rather than the start of it (of course this clock is now counting up!).

Maybe it’s just me.

And a weird three-way setup on Sky: one shot with time, one with just “LIVE” and one of presenter in-vision.

Also replacing domestic Breakfast program. NC’s schedule cleared out for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile in America, it’s 1am and all three cablers are live. MSNBC are even doing it their way instead of Sky’s way.

Sydney only

Link to Matthew Doran is very poor on ABC
