Designed by Saffron like their TV and radio brands.

Is there a reason for them to do this? No. It isn’t really connected to any cause.

But it was done and well done (and nothing sweeter than a walk-off in your favor). Another such broadcast is scheduled for June 27.

Iconic voice of Wimbledon, Andrew Castle, has sensationally quit the BBC just days after it was announced the 2026 Championships would be his last with the broadcaster. Castle’s voice was synonymous with the Beeb’s coverage of Wimbledon, but they had wanted to push their coverage in a different direction and told him this year would be his final outing.

But it would appear Castle has taken matters into his own hands and with less than a month until the action in SW19 gets underway, the commentator has handed in his resignation.

Last year, Sportsnet was sharply criticized for using the world feed to cover the tennis tournament bearing its parent company’s name - which led to little coverage of FAA matches.

So what do they do this year? Same thing, except now you’ll be told about it!

Fox Sports will close in Mexico by November 1, when they can no longer license the use of the brand.

It lost too many lucrative rights to remain an attractive destination.

Sporty TV in Czech Republic is ending after two years.

Founded by sport event organizer Perinvest, the channel is the country’s only FTA commercial option — others are either the public broadcaster or pay TV suites.

A separate company for the channel was established and bought by Prima TV, who would base on their experience and sports rights to launch their own sports channel.

While Perinvest’s other online streams remain unchanged, Prima isn’t continuing Sporty’s current operations — their sports channel has obtained a separate broadcasting license, and will air from Prima’s HQ with better technology (virtual studios etc) and better resourced for grabbing international events.

Similar to Game One in France last year, the channel aired its last sports magazine show on Friday, and will air repeats until the channel closes down on the 16th.

Test broadcasts for Prima’s spiritual successor started a couple of days ago too.

Here’s a bit of international sports non-presentation.

There were 4 games of Little League World Series yesterday and 4 games today. Except yesterday was washed out so all 8 games played today.

Games are divided into 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm ET concurrents. The latter three are broadcast on ESPN networks.

And the first one - consists of Australia v Mexico and Great Lakes v Mountain - are not only untelevised, but unproduced. No cameramen, no production truck, nothing.

That’s your $15-17 million/year at work.

Has been working with LFP extensively since last year. Good to see him on the big stage, where he deserves to be.

Good that ESPN is putting their brand to some use. Though I’m skeptical about a 6pm ET ending, given it is a Grand Slam.
