I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Why do we have the usual comments first night of “who are these people” and “I don’t know who they are”? If you don’t know them and it’s so important just Google them FFS. As others have posted, the less well known are usually the most entertaining. Skye I don’t know and she’s given me the most laughs so far. Mind you I think she could become a bit annoying as well.

All in all a good cast and a good start. I thought Robert handled it all well. I was a bit wary when he was first announced.

Great oxymoron. How are you overexposed yet not well known.

As they do every year. I had no idea who Skye Wheatley, Callum Hole or Ellie Cole are but I bet somebody will come on here and tell me theye big name celebrities.

Isn’t that what people say every single year? Yes.

I’m sure he is just reading what is written on the autocue for him, exactly as Dr Chris did before him.

As mentioned Candice has been on 4 other reality shows, but by her own admission people know her more as a WAG than for what she actually did before her marriage.

I think when you compare this cast to the DWTS cast, which has 12 celebs too, DWTS has much better and well known names. Similarly, the DWTS cast this year haven’t been flogged to death on other reality shows.

All I’m saying is that IAC casting seems to have let this season down. I’m not sure if this season show will be able to have engaging characters that will bring viewers back for ep 2, let alone the rest of the season.

It’s like some people have never watched the show and don’t get the irony that is implicit in the title itself. The people chosen are often only celebrities in their own minds; it’s deliberate and part of the success of the franchise.

Fine to have your opinion, others are clearly excited by this years casting and think it’s a good group of celebs.

I guess it depends on who you know, or how open you are to getting to know new people you weren’t aware of previously too.

Celebrity has always been dubious with some of the casting, but as others have said it often leads to some inspired and entertaining casting choices.

Take it for what it is.

I have heard of 10 of the 11 celebrities, but never heard of Callum as I never watch Love Island.

I’ve heard of 8 of the 11 (i haven’t heard of Brittany, Callum and Skye). Going by previous seasons of I’m A Celeb, these sorts of stars are usually the most entertaining.

As for people saying “who” and “these aren’t celebrities” etc, that’s the whole point of the show. Even the show sent out a bingo card with these catchphrases onto their social pages in recent days.

Spotted in the Australian Idol audience tonight; Matty J and LAURA BYRNE!

Great best friend and work mate. Not even home watching bestie Brittany enter the jungle!

I think a night out is way better than staying home watching telly. You should try it sometime. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not a chance in hell sister. Not in this day and age of violence after dark.

How does Michelle fit the description of controversial TV star?

Didn’t she hook up with co-star Steve “Commando” Willis while on The Biggest Loser and both were accused of cheating on their long-term partners?

Yes, both left their existing partners at the time to pursue a relationship. The two were together for around 7 years and have a child together.

I remember this because Commando was a personal trainer at my gym and was well known by gym goers. Was also a regular at the coffee shops around the area with his wife and kids.
