You and I must have very different opinions of what pornographic means, since I don’t find them pornographic at all
I see ads for products which are pictured next to body parts like fingers and skin folds but are provocatively designed to look like penises and vaginas. Next time I see one, I’ll post it here to show you.
Ah yes the ‘Air Mode’.. the one Mediaspy Theme that gets forgotten (or is it Mediaspy Fully??)
Here’s an interesting one. Reading on the AM FM DX forums and this happened. @bacco007 coding error?
Thread is too large - give me 20 minutes and I’ll tidy it up
All Good, thought I’d just alert you guys to it.
Appreciate it - and all done
Yeah I’ve seen this happen quite a lot especially on Safari on my phone. Must have had something to do with how the system does post tracking.
And farewell Christmas decorations til December once again
Question…after this post…
was another post of mine removed? I’m not cranky, I am a little confused and going slightly mad. For what reason I’m a little lost, I may not have made a post and losing my marbles.
That was the last post made by you in that thread, mate.
OK, thanks for confirming, I thought I was going mad.
i got one of those too, but it was sent to an email address not associated to my MS profile. So it can’t have had anything to do with MS.
EDIT: Isn’t StereoNet a later incarnation of an old TV forum (dtvforum.info?) Maybe you had an account there? I think I had one but never used it.
Yeah, they bought the database of the DTV Forums and merged in the existing user base, somewhat handy as there’s some useful archival posts and it works better than hoping the internet archive scraped the specific page you wanted, but they’ve also used it to send promo mailers.
I logged into my old account, the alert I had was one for a 15 year member badge, so that’d be a really annoying reason to email, but nothing would indicate it was a hack or anything.
Here are a couple of Temu ads I have seen since I mentioned the suggestive nature of them. There have been a few other images too.
I have a Gmail account, some of the ads I get must be linked to that, as I bought some bed sheets from a retail outlet that I didn’t search for online, but I had to sign up with my email to get a discount.
Shared networks and device proximity are other measures that Google can use. If you are physically near other people looking for certain topics they can use that to feed you ads - assuming even if you aren’t directly the target audience, you might still influence purchases.
You can use google’s “Ad Centre” to guide their algorithms, or turn off personalisation entirely, as well as block sensitive categories.
The more fun one might be this page which shows you how Google has categorised you based on their gathered information, and see how close they got it right.
Heh, Google thought I was married with kids. Yeah right. ![]()
Even funnier was that they thought I owned a house. Good luck with that!

just wondering if Discourse had capability to integrate with FixUpX to help make integrating Twitter/X posts better, as I know Twitter killed the OG fuctionality for Dicourse a couple years back
