Having a patreon and making Spy Lounge subscriber only would be a fair compromise for a small monthly fee.

That works. Do the same for the mocks section and hopefully keep the Paint mocks out (and if not then at least we know those people are paying to be bad).
Even something like using Patreon to provide subscribers with a special subscriber title on the forum, or even the ability to set a custom title, would work.
I’m happy to support Media Spy on things like that, but ads… no. Ad blocker stays on for all sites. Modern internet advertising is obnoxious and is a security risk (less so since the death of Flash, but still a risk regardless). This isn’t a Media Spy thing, it’s ads in general.
@bacco007 there’s money to be made here. Even if the aim isn’t to make a profit (although if you do then great) things like the examples posted can at least help make up for the loss in ad revenue.

At least the servers survived the day and haven’t blown up (unless they crash during the next few hours during discussion about Seven SA/Griffith closing down)
It was just slow at times, but that was to be expected given the Network 10 changes… I didn’t even see an “extreme load” message.

For me, and possibly a few others the site was offline for about 10 minutes after 6pm.
