I usually like posts that contribute to the forum and posts that aren’t quite the reply type and frequently hit the limit. Am here almost daily though.

Guess cost of living has hit MediaSpy likes with less needing to be spent on the same number of posts as the past

Agree, and I find ‘liking’ a post is a bit less obtrusive than clogging up the thread with replies like ‘Agree’ or ‘Thanks’ etc without having anything further to contribute…

If it was my world, I’d increase the likes per day to 100, to have a bit of buffer or when it’s a big day like a relaunch / new channel.

Exactly my reason for liking.

I’m always keen on helping encourage more contributions from those who are going to the effort of quality writing.

100 would be more helpful.

Once I’ve exhausted the 50, I’m off the site until it resolves for the next day.

I’m on the site every day and like and interact with a number of posts, but have never reached a limit in all my time here.

Personally I think 50 is more than sufficient in a day.

Out of speculation and curiosity - some people reach the limit some people don’t - what’s the actual ratio of it?

• Reach the limit often/daily
• Reach the limit roughly 50% of the time
• Never reach the limit

I can imagine mods have stats at their end that tells them this info. I assume that was the basis in their decision to reduce the number of likes from 200 down to 50 per day.

Still I don’t really know why they tried to fix something that didn’t seem to need fixing ??? Seems to have caused more angst than anything.

Relaunches and big news aside - we average between 300 and 400 posts a day. Not every one of these posts is worthy of a reaction (a quick scan of any thread will show this) either

I’ve got an exciting idea to breathe new life into our Mock Design section! How about we introduce a monthly prompt-based contest, where members can showcase their creativity and skills? Here’s how it could work:

1. Monthly Challenge:

• We have a designated prompt for each month that members can use as inspiration for their mock designs. The prompts may draw inspiration from a wide spectrum of themes, ranging from a relaunch or rebranding initiative to the introduction of a fresh on-air package, and even the revival of a specific format. Crucially, these prompts must be intricately connected to real-life events within the dynamic landscape of the media industry

2. Judging by Peers:

• Fellow members get to be the judges! This not only fosters a sense of community but also provides diverse perspectives on design.

3. Prompt Setters:

• To keep things fresh, we could have a different member set the prompt each month. However, there’s a catch - the member who sets the prompt cannot participate in that specific challenge. This ensures fairness and avoids any bias.

4. Honoring the Winner:

• The winner of each monthly challenge earns the honor of setting the next month’s prompt. This not only recognizes their talent but also keeps the challenges member-driven.

I believe this could inject some friendly competition, encourage participation, and bring a new sense of excitement to our Mock Design section. What do you all think? Let’s brainstorm and make our design community even more vibrant!

i’ve always liked this idea, and i really do hope to see it come to fruition
