All I’m getting is Spotlight ads. I don’t even like fabric and haberdashery

I’m getting Chesoon Sheet Metal Hand Seamer/Sheet Metal Bender/Manual Metal Bending Pliers. I have no idea why.

I did, but there are some good sites that don’t work properly if you have have one.

The small banner ones are OK, it’s the big pop up ones I can’t stand.

Hard to avoid when they recur this often.

Some of the ads I’ve been getting lately have also been sooo large - basically double that size. Have to scroll so far down just to get to the topic list.

Have especially noticed this when using the site on my mobile phone - sometimes it takes up so much room that I can’t continue to scroll up without clicking on the ad.

@OnAir I know the mod’s don’t have a say in what ad’s appear, but do you guy’s get a say in how big they have to be?

I get the feeling that those types of ads are using an exploit to manually alter their size. Could be outside what is allowed by the ad provider.

No doubt they are exploiting some loophole - especially since the bigger one’s are usually scams (at least from my experience).

I’ve tweaked the ad size - it should better account for device size.

I have a simple policy about pop-up ads… if there’s one there, I leave the site and don’t come back, ever.

Small, inobstrusive banner ads are fine and I’m happy to live with them, so long as they’re not videos or flashing bright colours at me.

A good plugin like ublock has meant I haven’t had a pop up or really any ads in years. You can adjust it to keep normal ads and just block pop ups as well.
