Ive just noticed channel 998 on my hubbl glass called Hubbl Glass Retail Demo Channel. It has no audio track but it runs through some slides talking about the features of the Tv. The channel has a main event logo
Ive photographed some screens.

Clearly meant for retail displays e.g JB Hi-Fi, pretty cool that it can be publicly accessed through a consumer Hubbl though
It it listed on my regular Hubbl but it doesnât display anything.
my assumption is that it is only unlocked for the TV
Yeah. my guess is they want it easy to use. I wonder if it can be accessed without signing into the TV⌠iâm not going to reset mine to find out
Just checked my normal Hubbl box and itâs there. I donât think it was there before⌠not something Iâve gone looking for but it does show up when scrolling all the way through the list of the channels.
Does Hubbl have an instore demo mode?
Pretty much most TVs have a instore demo mode. One where idiots canât fuck around with the equipment and tells the customer what their TV can do.
Never seen or heard of a set top box or a streaming stick have one.
Also, why canât the system add the FAST channels into the guide? Would make life a lot easier and tip the scales in favour of people recommending it to their parents.
100% this, even if itâs not every FAST channel, just some of the more popular, and dare I say it, static ones, itâs a great point of difference that Hubbl could offer.
Looks like the availability of the hubbl glass has increased. Its now gor sale at appliances online. Winder if thr wider ability is why the retail demo channel was created
there was a comment on the Hubbl Facebook group last night that the Kayo app has been upgraded. Not sure whatâs changed though
I saw that too. I havenât checked my hubbl glass to see if itâs got the update but apparently the kayo app was a stripped down one and now its the full one. I donât care either way as long as its usbale and easy to navigate
New update was released the other day which has changed the way apps and favourites are managed. You can now choose which apps are saved as favourites on the home screen and you can even save more than are actually available.
However the one Iâm annoyed about is the number of favourites has gone from 100 to 50. I found this when using my shortcut to Fox Footy on 54 and it told me it was invalid. I had made it so that the sports channels were 51, 52, 53 etc⌠and the news ones 60, 61, 62 etc⌠to simplify by removing one digit but it doesnât look like I can do that now and you also canât assign the numbers easily. e.g. I could assign 7 Tas as 7 but now I have to put 6 other items before that so that it can go as 7. It was already a buggy system but theyâve made that so much harder now and a big step backwards.
my favourite bug with the Hubbl is at when you use the up and down channel buttons, up takes you to a higher number (as youâd expect)
but if youâre in the tv guide and select a channel that you donât have a subscription for, the interface changes, and you press up and the channel numbers go lower - so reversing directionsâŚ
Hubblâs as good as gone. Itâs pretty useless, considering its competition - a Google-backed can do more and cost less in a large majority of cases.
It would be goood to see the platform stay and see Dazn do something with it but I really donât think they will want to sell puck devices.
Give it a few months. Theyâll be clearing them out. Google was already eating its lunch when Hubbl came to the market and offered less than what Google was offering. Hubblâs target market was those who did not want to deal with apps and wanted one where all the FTA channels and their channels were on one scroll through the guide.
If Google and TV manufacturers were smart, theyâd do the exact same. Heck, Iâd love to see both put FAST channels, DAB and streaming radio as part of the service.
Iâve switched to a Amazon Fire Stick. Already paying for itself with a bigger app ecosystem. Sure I lose the FTA antenna plug but I got an STB that still works for that.
Iâve had the Googles and the Amazonâs for years as well as the Fetch but the Hubbl has been brilliant for the simplicity and is what I always use because of the integration. If there was any way to get all the live channels integrated in with the FTA and the others Iâd be straight onto it but at the moment with kids and parents it was the easiest thing to get the channels.
