House Rules

Ugh! I meant “isn’t”.

Thanks for the answer :slightly_smiling_face:

Calling a footstool it’s correct Australian term - a pouffe.

In Bert Newton’s era.

After two rounds of backyard transformations, the team scores were:
Jess and Jared: 51/80
Kim and Michelle: 51/80
Josh and Brandon: 31/40
Mel and Dave: 30/40
Chiara and David: 27/40
Toad and Mandy: 25/40

Jess and Jared and Kim and Michelle are looking down the barrel. Both teams would be eliminated if Josh and Brandon got the combined score of 21 or more from judges and homeowners in the final round of renos. If Toad and Mandy were to survive elimination, their combined score not only had to be 27 or higher, it also had to be three points higher than Chiara and David’s.

I was thinking Kim and Michelle’s room makeover on Better Homes and Gardens a few weeks ago was a consolation prize.

Speaking of Better Homes and Gardens, another team will appear on the show this Friday night to show their cooking.

Two part Grand final scheduled for Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd July

Does that mean the three teams would compete for the title by renovating Chelsea’s house? The show is only on Sunday and Monday next week due to Home and Away 30th anniversary special on Tuesday as well as the debut of The Single Wives on Wednesday.

EDIT: here is the sneak peek for renovation of Chelsea and Wayde’s house: https://twitter.com/HouseRulesOn7/status/1016489091628597249

EDIT 2: found the article about rugby league player Wayde Dunley’s death in July last year: https://www.macarthuradvertiser.com.au/story/4789011/wayde-dunleys-final-selfless-act/

From Seve:

Tomorrow on HOUSE RULES at 7:30pm: The biggest ever elimination in HOUSE RULES history is here. After renovating eight houses and six backyards, the 2018 House Rules Top 3 teams heading into the finals will be revealed.

I heard an f bomb slip through tonight with one of the tracks used. The Hayden James song Just Friends has the lyrics:
'Cause f*** it, we’re young, it’s just fun.

It will be a tear jerker but it won’t be the grand final, instead it will decide the two grand final teams.

Hope the teams can work together on this one, I’m going to hate seeing the ad all week though. It gets me every time when the daughter points to the picture and says “Dada” because we have a girl about the same age, and it gets me thinking every single time about that poor family and what they’re missing.

After Jared Petrenko and his girlfriend Jess were eliminated on tonight’s episode (which would have filmed in late April or early May), Jared returned to training for his SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens and played his first game of the year on May 19, against Norwood. Unfortunately he injured his knee and was sidelined for six weeks, before returning in July 8 against Port Adelaide reserves and scored three goals.

For the final round of backyard renovations, the homeowners did not reveal their scores on air, instead their scores were added behind the scenes to each team’s total score. According to Wikipedia, the homeowners scores for this round were:
*Jess and Jared’s backyard
Josh and Brandon - 7
Toad and Mandy - 9
*Kim and Michelle’s backyard
Chiara and David - 7
Mel and Dave - 7
During her recount Mel reckoned there were some strategic scoring by Kim and Michelle, even though mother and daughter loved the Balinese-style retreat and the children’s playground. Unfortunately the plan failed because LLB gave 10 points to both Chiara and David and Mel and Dave while Wendy gave both couples 9 points.
In the end, the top three teams (Mel and Dave, Toad and Mandy, Chiara and David) were only separated by two points. Toad and Mandy were second last after the first round of backyard battles, but a stunning transformation of one half of Jess and Jared’s backyard, including converting half of the shed into a pizza joint, saw the NSW dairy farming couple receiving 38 points and topping the round. Josh and Brandon, who renovated the other half of the Adelaide backyard, lost valuable points by forgetting to install new shade for the alfresco and were eliminated along with Kim and Michelle and Jess and Jared.

The current final was filmed in Woonona in April. During the shoot some local residents complained to the Wollongong City Council about parking problems caused by traffic restrictions and containers and a site shed that occupied the parking lane on one side of the street.

It was great having the reveal and judges scoring in the same ep like it used to be. Wish they would consider this for next year!
