The current plot line regarding the baby is interesting but it is not believable that Rose would conduct a press conference regarding the baby Tane found she isnt senior enough. I am hoping he does not get back with Felicity she doesn’t deserve him she is just whining selfish women. I’m sick of the show having women characters who are like this.
Seven did air a ‘switch now’ full screen transition & countdown and V/O warning tonight at 7pm in Melbourne and Adelaide advising Home and Away due to the AFL.
There were also 7Two specific promos during at least The Chase and news (as well as for BH&G tomorrow night). @TV.Cynic
Usually at the end of episode where they have the preview for the next episode, at the end (at least here in Adelaide) they have “7.00 Tomorrow” with the 7Two logo.
Sounds like a presentation co-ord’s mistake, that in-program end credits and preview split screen should’ve aired in Melbourne and Adelaide last night instead (for tonight)?
I think it did go to air with the 7TWO logo. I was just mentioning that it what usually happens, but wasn’t paying close enough attention yesterday to say for sure. Sorry for the confusion.
Home and Away (more a generic “weeknights at 7 on 7” one but featuring a current storyline) promoting tonight as main channel in Melbourne, which is incorrect, it’s actually on 7Two again due to AFL pre game (first bounce 7:30pm)
Worth mentioning that Home and Away’s broadcast numbers in the 5-city market are struggling this year, perhaps hidden by a continuing strong regional performance. Monday’s number was 396,000 with another 50k tuning in via 7Plus. It is rare for the show to reach 400k these days.
Yes, reginal numbers (plus catch up) seem to keep this show alive. But I’m assuming the 5-city market is where most of the advertising profit comes from for the Network. I do feel Seven may need to invest in a live news based format at 7.00pm, with H&A maybe moving to 7.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Especially with AFL permanently being on Thursday nights next year in Melbourne and Adelaide.
They should try and revamp it first.
- A new fostering family
- a few character returns from the old days. Throw the dollars at Kate Ritchie to return as Sally. Even Hayley would probably do the trick.
- bring back teenagers and the school
Form what I see advertised, It dose seem like the show is concentrating on the late 20s early 30s cast.
The AFL split scheduling and channel switches must be hurting H&A as well, more so than previous years, as it’s now coming off a lower base. Bvod makes up for it a bit.
edit
Silly suggestion, could they try a roadblock scenario on these nights, get Melbourne and Adelaide or whatever market to watch the first 1min or 3 or 5min, on both 7 and 7Two and then 7 says “to continue switch now”. Rather than just the current situation of having to carefully follow guides, EPG and on-air promotions, albeit they do have a full screen V/O message straight after news as well.
This is live and on demand, yes? As in for on demand, those who have caught up after broadcast (7:30pm) until OzTAM cut off at 2am, locally.
Plus overseas sales from the UK, etc. Although I notice that ABC Australia no longer airs the show in the Asia-Pacific region.
I think Home and Away may have gone to PacificAus TV (Free TV Australia’s Pacific programming block).
Yep it is listed on the PacificAusTV website, but it was mentioned when it was launched that Home and Away would remain on ABC Australia. I presume it may of been till the current contract ended, or the ABC decided to drop the program to save costs.

They’ve finally found Lynne McGrange something to do given she hasn’t had a real big storyline in years (apart from the whole Dana saga)
