âSeven strongly encourages vaccination for all our people and all Seven productions strictly adhere to the public health COVID-19 safe protocols,â a spokesman told news.com.au.
â
âAll Home and Away cast and crew also undertake Covid-19 testing three times a week in addition to other preventive measures. Sam Frost continues to work on Home And Away and follows the safety protocols in place.â
Iâve been reading rumours online that Rob Kipa Williams (Ari Parata), has had his contract shortened because of a disagreement with production, presumably about the vaccine, as heâs been posting on his Instagram stories in recent weeks with questions such as âShould the vaccine be made mandatory?â, so youâd think he doesnât intend on taking the vaccine based off that.
I wouldnât be surprised if Sam Frost is allowed to stay on the show because itâs supposedly for a medical reason, however Rob might be choosing not to take the vaccine, just because. Interesting to note that Ethan Browne (Tane Parata), Kawakawa Fox-Reo (Nikau Parata), and Harley Bonner (Logan Bennett), have also been âlikingâ similar posts not wanting to take the vaccine on Instagram and supporting Rob. Might see quite a few departures in coming months if thatâs the case.
Either way itâs not a good look especially if theyâre a public figure trying to play the sympathy card to justify the fact that theyâre not vaccinated for non-medical (and thus illegitimate) reasons.
If she doesnât want to be vaxxed then she should keep it to herself. If it goes against the company policy then adios. Simple.
Oh I agree - she should have probably kept quiet about it. But sheâs obviously working through a few issues and perhaps didnât make the right choice. We donât need to send a spear through her heart for it.
My point is more so regarding company policy mandating a vaccine. We donât even know how long this vaccine will be effective for.
Exactly. No doubt on-air personalities at Seven whoâve done the right thing and got vaccinated themselves would be less impressed with the stuff theyâve seen/heard from Sam Frost + other H&A stars in recent days.
Indeed. Aside from those with exceptions for legitimate medical reasons, H&A stars who take an anti-vax stance might find trouble ever getting another position in the mainstream media if Seven and other companies eventually decide they want all their employees to be fully vaccinated.
Weâve already heard that Nineâs going down that road (certainly in news & current affairs departments) so it wouldnât surprise me if all major Australian media organisations eventually follow suit to some degree.
Which is pretty outrageous, the point of the vaccine was not to get to 100% and mandate it as a condition of employment.
It was to make sure hospitals werenât overrun and the mortality rate was kept under control. Evidently governments around the world are happy with 70-80% so why workplaces are making it 100% is a bit puzzling.
The instructors from SAS Australia (including Ant Middleton) were at the set of Home and Away recently. (I heard this on the latest episode of So Dramatic podcast)
Possible cameo?
Isnât Alf a bit old to be jumping from the helicopters into the water? Although, I can see Irene running through the buildings gun in arms with explosions around her.
Iâm loving Marilynâs scenes lately. This new âattitude transplantâ is hilarious, and the shock on Ireneâs face last night made me laugh when (vegetarian) Marilyn asked for a beef burger âmade with cowâ.
Channel 5 UK has confirmed that from Monday, November 8, Home and Away will move from the main channel to 5STAR for its first screening at 6.30pm, due to the expansion of the 5pm news and Neighbours taking H&Aâs 6pm timeslot. The weekday repeat of 1.15pm on the main channel remains unchanged.
