Jingles sounded a little different on Mix94.5 today, at least in the morning

I thought I herd a new one on b106 breakfast the other day. It use to be the exact same jingle as Melbourne.

Similar to the “2DayFM Morning Crew” jingle (which I’ve only heard on the TVCs but would presume is also used on-air during the show) or something different?

Was it the “Pete, Matt & Kymba” one? That one is different to the regular “Get That Feeling” jingles that play during the day shifts.

Jingles have been refreshed across many stations.

I’ve also noticed also they have really narrowed the playlist on the regional Hit stations on the weekends. It’s been like this for a few months now. They have really cut back on the old school hits and repeating the same new song every 2 hours. Even my wife who is 39 was complaining about the lack of variety on these stations now.

It seems to have extended to weekdays as well. Looking at Lava for today, they no longer seem to play any 80s during the day.

I have noticed that for a few weeks too.
Maybe it has something to do with declining ratings in key markets, Central / Gold Coast so they are modernising and making the playlists tighter.

The original Hit format was the best where they played top 40 and some 90’s old school rock tracks in their playlist, but that was encroaching too much on Triple M. Back then Triple M played some pop tracks that encroached too much on Hit too.

The “Get That Feeling” jingles were a little remixed

There’s still allot of good music they can play from the last couple of years. Wouldn’t mind hearing that on the radio as well as some new stuff.

Have had 2DAY on and off today. Much more variety today and have enjoyed it. Really think if they are going to stick to 90s to Now then just open up the playlist and go for it.

I much prefer the FOX/ B105 playlist, better music. The 2DAY FM playlist is still too conservative.

2DAY are not airing Tom and Olly tonight, just automated music.

Other Hit stations are still with Tom and Olly.

Wonder if this just due to some technical issue, or part of a format change?

I’ve just looked up the music log for 2DAY FM on Lava and there was hardly a new song played today. Most of the songs were from the 80’s to 2010.

Yes, tonight the first song I heard was an 80s hit
(“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” - Whitney Houston).

Classic Hits 2DAY FM maybe!!!

That’s because today is Wednesday, in which the Hit Network is doing “Oh Wow Wednesdays”.

I had a look at Tuesday log and it basically looked the same as the Wednesday log.
