went past the old B105 / Triple M studios in north Quay this morning and noticed the old Hit 105 sign on the side of the building facing corro drive as seen here has been removed
The new Hit 94.5 in Perth will not have Clairsy on the breakfast show.
Big news.
Very big news. End of an era for him. I personally think he has chosen to time it with the HIT rebrand. Not that that is the reason, just that he wants to go and what better time to leave than when the whole station is changing.
Still nothing about the summer line up. Odd.
Travis, they will be remaining as MIX 94.5, not Hit. They will be part of the Hit Network, but will be maintaining their heritage brand, just like 2Day, Fox, SAFM and B105. My guess is Pete Curulli will move over to join that brekky team.

I wonder if we will see Clairys on 96fm in 2021
Clairsy started his radio career on The Eagle in regional radio before joining PMFM then Mix 94.5
As expected.
Would have thought Kymba deserved top billing as longest serving host though
They might wanna update that pic as Pete just shaved his hair off.Was thinking as soon as i heard that Dean was leaving that Pete would be returning to Mix.
Dean started he radio work on 6md in merriden country radio
The Eagle was and is 6ix Perth
Not sure if itâs been mentioned but they are running ads for Carrie and Tommy on 92.9 advising they will be on Mix 94.5 next year, so they are actively trying to get the Hit audience over to 94.5.
EDIT: also just said R&B Fridays is moving to Mix.
Iâd say, for the purposes of having something ready to go, itâs fine. But they will no doubt have new promo shots taken.
They just said on 92.9 that R&B Fridays will be going to Mix 94.5. I must admit, this surprises me. Maybe they will be going full-tilt Hit format after all.
I also just heard the announcer say it was the âlast RNB Friday on Hit 929 - but donât worry - just head along to Mixâ
Yeah thatâs a surprise. Are they throwing away the existing 94.5 audience?
It sure seems that way. Unless it will be âR&B Fridaysâ but still skewing a little older than the current incarnation on 92.9? I just canât see them swinging too far away from their current format because otherwise theyâll just piss off their current audience. Theyâll lose some audience, no doubt about it.
But surely they wonât swing to what 92.9 is currently. Otherwise, why wouldnât they just leave 92.9 as is and push 94.5 to be a fully Triple M station?
I hope so. Thatâs made me feel a lot more positive about the switch.
So of the 92.9 breakfast show, only Julez doesnât have a new gig announced. Pete on Mix & Xavier staying with triple m for afl.
