Biggest news story of the day for US morning newscasts at 7AM EDT on 9/11/01 was the returning of Michael Jordan to the Washington Wizards.
While the news agenda may have been quiet in the United States leading up to the attacks, itâs to my understanding that things were considerably busier from an Australian news perspective with Ansett already in serious trouble, John Howardâs trip to Washington (which wouldâve been disrupted by 9/11) and Lleyton Hewittâs US Open win.
