Does it mean anything that Ch9’s Yourtv guide doesn’t show any changes ?
That’s it’s probably not up to date.
The EPG should be more accurate than any online TV guide.

Ch 9’s Yourtv guide does as I checked it earlier…
7HD will be changing over to 7’s main channel at 12am Friday.
Okay. Well I will hope the evening content is in high definition.

Of interest, the Foxtel guides show the change for 7HD to 7 programming on Friday, but show the programming returning to 7mate on Christmas Day.
Must be temporary. What could be possibly so important for 7hd to return to thr main channel only for a week and two days ?
After being confused for three days reading these posts on 7 HD it’s finally dawned on me that 7 HD is not 7 everywhere in the country. In Melbourne I’ve been watching 7 in HD since I installed an HD TV weeks ago. I couldn’t understand what you were all going on about.

Well if it’s usually in the epg guide… i would say it’s either a very big mistake or seven have something temporary for seven hd to simulcast. If we go by thr Foxtel epg. My epg guide doesn’t go that far, but my Foxtel guide on my Foxtel box is repeating the same thing.
Haha yeah, the masters at seven and the afl decided earlier this year that for every single afl state to get hd they must keep 7mate in hd for Perth , Sydney and Brisbane. So seeing the epg guide gives me hope but then my Foxtel guide says say 7 chewpskate more is hd on Christmas Day.
If it’s actually true that Seven is switching the HD channel to a simulcast of the main one in all markets for all of about nine days, then I’d really love to know the logic at that network! No HD for the Melbourne Cup or the golf but we’ll give you a week or so during non-ratings in December. WTF? 
Personally I trust the EPG on terrestrial TV more than Foxtel’s EPG and also wouldn’t have thought that Christmas Day would be used to make any major programing changes but as always, I guess it’s a case of wait and see.

I never trusted the EPG before, so why should i trust it now? Something’s odd. Someone has dropped the ball.
Besides when midnight arrives in Sydney and Melbourne I’m sure this thread will be lightened up with complaints about the EPG being wrong.
As I’ve said before, our changeover time is (apparently) 2am according to the “7HD Sydney” EPG. I don’t know why it isn’t midnight like Brisbane and Perth, but personally I don’t care just as long as it happens and of course I hope we’ll get main channel programing in HD for an extended period of time.
I’m not sure if anyone is actually that dedicated to stay up for the changeover, but I’ll probably set a timer recorder or something!

I’ll probably be dedicated as i usually watch the view on abc (America) online around then . So if I get a chance I might be able to take some caps .
Just hope it’s permanent
The only big thing Seven has in the next week is Carols in the Domain and as much as I enjoy watching Christmas carols, it’s definitely not something which warrants the main channel being temporary available in HD for NSW, QLD & WA viewers!
As others have said, the more probable explanation is that the switch back from 7HD to 7mate HD is a mistake

I just hate how Seven just does this and doesn’t announce anything about it. It’s like you have to go hunting for it for yourself
Or the Christmas Day switch back is a mistake. Will find out at 01:03:40 AEDT according to Brisbane EPG.

7HD is now showing the same as Seven in the Foxtel guide past Christmas Day.
