So not that good …

Listen, I love a larf. I live for laughter. I do, really. But not one single titter, giggle or full blown gale of laughter erupted from my mouth tonight. Sighs, yawns — yes.

So similar to the US version then.

I laughed a few times. Like the US one, it would be better if it was an hour.

Do you mean both would be better if they were an hour?

The US one is about 90 mins right?

Yes, the UK aired on Sky One from 10pm to 11:15. The US version airs for around 90 mins.

The last sketches after the second musical act could have been cut although the bra shop one was better than some of the earlier ones.

Most reviews have been very positive.

I think this show will be measured by engagement fandom buzz and cultural relevance.

HBO Max Australia reveals its content plans

Helping HBO Max to profitability has been the steady flow of content from the US. It has yet to start spending on Australian content. (Warner Bros Discovery general manager Australia and New Zealand, Michael) Brooks revealed that is coming, but viewers will have to be patient.

“Local content was always going to be part of the service. To be ultimately successful, you’ve got to have an element of local content here.

“We are committed to commissioning some incredible Australian content for the Australian service. The first of those titles will likely be on the service in 2027. We are very close to commissions on at least two projects and that slate will continue to grow over the next couple of years.”

Brooks denied that the introduction of content quotes for streamers forced HBO Max’s hand to invest in Australian commissions.
