Good timeslot.

The show will have a double episode premiere on Tuesday night, followed by a single episode each week for the next six weeks. There are eight episodes in total.
Top review from David!
Very keen for this!
Graeme Blundell isnāt that impressed with it.

The review isnāt behind the paywall. An excerpt that doesnāt include any of the storyline, but Iāve put it in spoiler tags anyway:
Are we surprised the Australian doesnāt like something that belongs to nine?
I strongly disagree with The Australianās review of Halifax: Retribution and I think Australia and especially Melbourne will enjoy this series. Itās well written and acted; while there might be āunderstatedā performances, that is what is called for in the parts. The ensemble cast more than makes up for it in diversity and quirkiness. Perhaps the reviewer only watched the first double episode, because there are certainly enough surprises - plot and performance wise in later episodes for the audience to tune in again each week.
Personally Iāve never taken any notice of what the reviews are for any show or movie, hopefully the viewers judge this show themselves.
This !
Did anyone watch the show tonight? I unfortunately missed it. How did it compare to the tele-movies from 20 years ago?
I really enjoyed it. It felt so similar but updated and modern.
Only thing I struggled with was that I found Anthony Lapagliaās accent very jarring.
Overall Iām excited for next week!
Same!
I enjoyed the show though.
Iāve actually never watched Halifax before, but I really enjoyed it last night and will definitely watch again. Really glad to see Rebecca Gibney back on screen, sheās one of the best.
Anthony Lapagliaās accent didnāt worry me, but I found the filters used when filming Rebecca Gibney quite distracting. It was particularly noticeable in the outdoor scenes.
?? What do you mean?
The filters or whatever they use to give a āsofterā appearance. The rest of the cast appeared to be normal so I think they just used it on her.
Yes, it was good seeing a local crime drama back on our screens.
Melbourne was in its element on screen last night. The city has always been a great place to film crime based productions due to its darkness, fast pace, size and cooler weather.
