I miss the old GWN. Had Prime not purchased it in 1996, it probably would have ended up a full Nine affiliate under WIN or PBL.

I’ve never seen this version before. Starts off on a lower pitch (is that the right term?) then kicks in to the familiar theme half way through. I also thought these idents only featured local people and places and not GWN identities. I wonder if Noel was filmed out the front of his own cafe?

I appreciate that GWN were probably doing their own thing by 1999 - Prime on the east coast [and New Zealand] were into the “Personality Plus” era (aaargh) but that never seemed to extend to the land of Doopa Dog, mercifully.
I’m not surprised there was a lower-pitched version given that was how most of the 60-second promo (besides the tagline) was sung in, but it would’ve been rare, at least in Prime territory… Prime never tended to do 30-second idents like that.
