Last season, I thought the show was a bit hit and miss sometimes but this episode had a lot of laugh out loud moments for me. I think they did a good job of reusing some successful segments and creating some hilarious new scenarios for other segments.
I think it was a solid start to season 2, really funny, especially seeing everyone’s minds implode when Guy’s shenanigans reared themselves
The carryover champion from episode 1 is Hannah Gadsby.

EPISODE 10 - Season 2 Final
WEDNESDAY 6 AUGUST 8.30PM
In the electrifying Season Finale, the Season 2 reigning champion clashes against new spellers Julia Morris, Gillian Cosgriff and Lizzy Hoo as they step up to the podium in a high stakes episode of Spelling - like you’re never seen it before.
Comedians play a game of ‘Spell Me like one of your French Words’, follow Aaron on a time bending adventure, and navigate through a tricky audience spelling round.
It all culminates as the spellers buzz in for the final time, who will take it out as the Season Two Finale Champion?
Kirsty Webeck did very well in season 2, winning five episodes in a row since she entered the competition on episode 5. However, she stumbled on the last hurdle, losing the finale to Gillian Cosgriff.
Kirsty posted a short message on her Instagram after the finale aired on TV last night: Kirsty Webeck on Instagram: "Best time! Thank you. Xox"
Feel like they should’ve read the room a bit and thrown an earlier episode like Hannah Gadsby did. Really didn’t feel like it was in line with spirit of the show to go so hard at winning for half the season.
Totally agree. It honestly did my head in every buzz round when she suddenly got all serious and looked dead set on making it to the next episode. I know it doesn’t really matter, but like you said, winning week after week kind of goes against the spirit of the show.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this season and hope to see it back again next year.
