When they say “In Brisbane and Adelaide, O’Connell will replace one hour of Jase & PJ At Night”, does that mean it’ll be 1 hour of Christian and 1 hour of Jase & PJ (because Jase & PJ currently goes for 2 hours - 7-9pm)?

UPDATE: Question answered. 97.3 FM and Mix 102.3’s websites are updated. Seems Jase & PJ just move back to 8-10pm after Christian.

Christian O’Connell is now airing from 6am-9am (instead of 10am which it has been since its inception).

How very strange. Just when Jonesy and Amanda extend their show. Weird.

Might be to allow for the night show?

Wouldn’t that just be highlights?

He was talking about WSFM not Gold 104.3.

Are you sure they have the same playlist? From what I’ve heard of WSFM I’d say they don’t.

WS & Gold do indeed have separate playlists.

According to Lava, as of 26th April 2020, WS played “Happy” by Pharrell Williams 176 times, whilst Gold 104.3 only played it twice.

Never said they did. They’ve added some more AC tracks in since Staveley took the MD role, including Pharrell (heard it once myself in an hour that was very 80s heavy and let me tell you, that was a very odd experience)

You implied it by quoting a song played on WSFM and then saying it was also on Gold 104.3.

Yes as expected, it’s highlights from the breakfast show.

I had just looked at the playlists for both WS & Gold 104.3, and it appears that they’re now sharing the same Saturday Night party program with the same playlist across both stations.

Which is inferior to the previous “Pure Gold Party Remix” program that WS had up until a month or so ago.

I hear very few 12 inch remixes now :frowning:

Huggy celebrating 29 years on Gold this morning, taking calls from long time listeners etc. Just heard one from Jase (a regular caller) who reckons he’s listened to nearly every show he’s done.

29 years on the one station is bloody impressive. If my maths is right, 6 May 1991 would be just on five months before the re-launch of KZFM as Gold 104

I worked with Craig at 3XY all those years ago. A really nice, genuine guy and we’re still in contact today.

Imagine the party for his 30th anniversary!!

Yes, I heard a couple of them yesterday… some imaginative ones

“Top 10 songs of made up words” - included ‘Unskinny Bop’ (Poison) and ‘Californication’ (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

“Top 10 Whistling songs” - included ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ (The Bangles) and ‘Wind Of Change’ (Scorpions)
