Gold Network

That’s absolute rubbish. If that were the case there’d be no such thing as DXing.

Local and live is often cringey and commercialised.

The best radio is broadcast radio to the widest audience possible, for example, John Laws at his height was radio at its broadest, not its narrowest.

WTF are you on about? Australian exceptionalism? Greatest country that ever existed? Who said anything like that?

You are off your tree mate.

Actually, I know who you are. You are that NZ guy that was on here a while ago but thankfully gave everyone a rest from your nonsense for about a year. But sadly it looks like you’re back. You seem to have a gigantic chip on your shoulder about Australia and all things Australian. I had you blocked but you seemed to disappear. I was wondering how long it would be before you were back - the proverbial bad penny.

You keep changing your profile name - but the diatribe remains the same.

For those that remember, his old profile was 1323ZM

so you describe local radio as “cringy” and “commercialised”, and yet defend nationally networked shows that are designed to satisfy the widest possible market, and rolled out identically across cities and funded by national sponsors. That’s not any less commercial, but simply commercial at a higher level.

On DXing, I do not see how it contradicts anything I said. DXers tune across borders because stations sound different in different markets. If radio stations sounded exactly the same across the country, DXing would be pointless.

Beggars belief why you’d go on an Australian-based media forum with predominantly Australian users and start up this nonsense… unless you’re not acting in good faith?

Yep, I was thinking the same thing

I believe the launching of Gold 1323 and KISS 102.3 in Adelaide and Gold DAB + in Brisbane will happen on Monday Jan 19 since its Jan 1 and Cruise 1323 is still on the air

It’s actually 1323, not 1332.

For some reason this popped back into my head when it said 1332

Lol

Wikipedia is not offical news

Official news about the change over would come from stations websites like gold1043.com.au and gold1017.com.au for example or ARN offical site https://arn.com.au/

It’s different to SCA’s Hit and MMM Perth transformation in 2020 where a date was announced with the swap.

ARN announced their network shuffling at their upfront event last year but no date was provided for a specific switchover in any markets (Perth, Adelaide with Mix getting full KIIS treatment etc).

I suspect they will continue to ramp up on air promos about GOLD96FM in the week, or days, leading up to the relaunch sometime soon.

Without anything official confirmed yet it could be when survey kicks in, perhaps earlier in January to avoid being sudden and jarring to listeners.

Seems like they’re aiming for a soft “nothing to see here, but we are making some cosmetic changes and you’ll appreciate not hearing KJO or Will and Woody” type launch

No doubt it will be interesting to see what if any changes occur with the music format. GOLD feels like a more natural fit for 96fm overall.
