so when do we think we will see gold in DAB in Brisbane? i would have thought they would get it on asap to get an audience before COC starts.
My guess is theyâll do the Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane changes all at the same time, 1st week of January.
I listened to WSFMâŚâŚ.err sorry Gold101.7 this morning. The positioner âJust Great Songsâ doesnât do it for me. I canât help but think âjust great songs and nothing elseâ.
Imagine a chef describing themselves as âjust a great cookâ. Itâs not exactly a positive description.
I havenât listened to this station for a while, but I always find I need to tune out after about 45 minutes because of RSI.

Had to laugh at OC yesterday. Gold 1043 played Roy Orbisonâs âYou Got Itâ around 6.30am and he mercilessly took the piss out of the station and called it a âhit new song for Goldâ etc.
There is a difference in Brisbane and Adelade
In Brisbane ARN is launching a whole new station on DAB+ where as in Adelade they are rebranding a station Cruise 1323 to Gold 1323 though
Yeah, agree. Iâm gobsmacked that Gold isnât already on DAB in Brisbane as a placeholder, playing music at least. Who cares about Elf radio if thatâs got to go to make room for it.
Most fm station havenât used the FM part of call sign for years.

Yea I cant see why ARN cant launch Gold DAB+ in Brisbane playing Music and with coming next year the christian o connell for breakfast and JAM Nation for Drive messages in between the songs

Theyâve been using that line to introduce newly added songs to the playlist and itâs never not hilarious hearing a decades old song following afterwards.
As far as I tell ARN is doing a Bad job with upcoming rebranding Classic Hits Cruise 1323 to Just Great Songs Gold 1323. Gold 1323 will use the same playlist as Gold 104.3/101.7 dumping the current classic hits music format
They have not told their listerners that their classic hits station is going bye bye next month which is not good at all
It would be good if ARN moves Classic Hits Cruise to DAB+ in Adelaide for those who want to listen to the classic hits still though
ARN treat their audience with contempt. Just look what they did to 97.3 and what theyâre about to do to Mix 102.3
Same with Mix 102.3, reading comments online, a majority think itâs just the current breakfast & workday announcers who are being replaced, not realising the current 80s to now format is going too.
