The UK series has commenced taping its second season, with one new event and one returning event.
The new event is called Unleash and is a 1 v 1 chase event in a similar vein to Pursuit. The contestant runs around the outside edge of the arena being chased by a Gladiator, overcoming a few minor obstacles along the way, before running up some stairs to a platform in the middle of the arena to grab a flag before they are caught.
The returning event is Atlaspheres
Theyāve also fixed up Gauntlet for series 2, adding a 5th Gladiator and changing up the equipment they use.
Another new event has been introduced, called Crash Course. It uses the Atlaspheres and has the two contenders race around the perimeter of the arena, with two Gladiators trying to stop them in their own Atlaspheres along the circuit.
The reboot of American Gladiators is currently filming and is being overseen by some of the UK production staff. Itās supposedly in the same vein as the UK version.
The French version for TF1 is also currently in production. No further word as yet as to if its following the UK lead, but it seems likely.
Nice to see the show living on in other territories.
No names for the new Gladiators as yet, but a number of fake AI generated Wiki pages have appeared that are just laughably bad, so I wonāt link them here.
Why did channel 10 mess up Gladiators if all the other countries can do the show right.
Budgets
Similar reasons to why they stuffed up DWTS and The Traitorsā¦
I donāt think 10 stuffed up The Traitors, it was just many viewers didnāt understand or appreciate the format.
Iād also argue the production values on DWTS were very very high. The show skewed older and so the audience who watched on seven didnāt find it on 10.
The French version appears pretty similar to the UK version, albeit a smaller space and with The Wall on the side - some photos below from Instagram:
Thanks for the photos! Iām no longer on the socials, so Iāve missed seeing these. Hopefully some photos of the American Gladiators filming will also leak too!
I agree with this. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the Australian version of the Traitors, it just was never promoted well and aired at a bad part of the year against strong competition. I always thought that it should have been slotted after a Survivor season as a better way to promote it, as would appeal to a similar audience.
Itās also easy to compare it to the US and UK versions in the Scottish castle (which has a different vibe) but the Aussie version actually aired before these even aired and was perfectly fine. Everyone I know that watched our version absolutely loved it.
Yep!
Even internationally our version (especially season 1) was super highly regarded. Itās a shame.
Gladiators could have been great too, we got robbed. Iām looking forward to the US version though, the 2008 one was fire.
UK and France filming is complete. The US version is still in pre-production and is rumoured to be filming on the UK set.
Random question - how would you feel if Gladiators Australia came back, but on Amazon Prime, or Nine/Stan, and it was filmed on the UK set?
