This is what I was talking about:
According to my research from looking at old editions of SMH, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory was indeed airing on Seven in Sydney back in the 70s & 80s, with its TV debut (at least in Sydney) occurring on 10th June 1977. It was even airing on Ten at one point, in which they aired it on a Sunday afternoon back in August 1983, just 4 months after it last aired on Seven. It then aired on Nine from May 1988 up until a few years ago.
Cool. Thanks. That’s what I must have been thinking of.
Yes that’s what started the discussion
An interesting anniversary to mark this week: the CBS eye logo made its debut on the US airwaves on October 20, 1951. Fast forward 66 years to October 20, 2017 and CBS gains approval to purchase 'lil old Network Ten Australia from the Foreign Investment Review Board.
Flashback to my primary school days. In Year 4 my teacher would show us an episode of BtN every week (recorded from either that week or the previous week) and then get us to make a summary poster in our books. For a period of time, he switched to showing us TTN, the Ten equivalent of BtN. Sadly this update is the only cap I can find online of TTN. Would anyone else happen to have caps somewhere, it would be interesting to see what presentation was like.
He would also show us recorded episodes of Scope, but I can’t remember how often though.
I know that TTN was launched due to the 2004-ish cancellation (although it was eventually revived about a year later) of Behind The News, but exactly how long did Ten’s take on the format last for?
Unfortunately I don’t have any recordings but I vaguely remember TTN having a modified version of Ten News’ On-Air Presentation of the time. The program was presented in front of a plasma on the Brisbane news set IIRC.
Of course, Scope is still in production today and airing on Eleven with the other locally produced children’s programs. I believe it was in August last year that longtime host Dr Robert James Bell finished his run on the show (aside from repeats) with Lee Constable becoming the program’s first female presenter.
Network Ten logo from 1983, at a time when each of the Network Ten channels had separate logos, taken from a pilot for a sitcom called Pretty Petrol, featuring Willie Fennell, Debbie Newsome (later to co-host Perfect Match) and Victoria Nicolls (ex-The Restless Years, Sale Of The Century).

TTN ran from February 2004 to December 2008 when it was axed following budgetary constraints.
ABC have uploaded part of pilot episode of Q&A on Thursday, 8 May 2008
Wasn’t sure where to put this. A good article on Judith McGrath’s death:

Happy birthday to SBS. 37 today… i was 8 at the time and remember watching Bruce Gyngell open the channel while i was having fish fingers for Friday night tea.
Later that night Chantal Contouri starred in the locally made telemovie Three Sea Wolves.
NGL I thought you were way older than me wow.
fucken banger of a show got me into ten then into the news (I always thought it stood for The Tuesday News).
If no one else can source any, surely the National Film and Sound Archive would have at least one or more copies of the program in it’s entirety.

The music heard here was also used the night the channel first opened.
Some Nine promos from 2009 - Nine News Brisbane weather with Garry - not much change in the station presenting team since then. Weekend Today looking for a new weather presenter and 60 Minutes with Michael Usher.
Enjoying the caps/videos Cynic
I’ve got a drawer full of VHS tapes from 2009 with Ten News, programming before/after and all the related stuff like promos/ads/PRGs, etc.
But not the slightest idea how to convert them, upload them or use YouTube
We are Geelong, the greatest team of all
That was a cracker Grand Final & Ten’s best outside 2005/2006.
Lots of info out there:
You could get something simple like this to connect VCR to computer.
I wonder which is more embarrassing: porn stash or VHS collection of Ten pres.
